I think Durbin took a page out of Dean's playbook!
Think about it; his remarks equating Gitmo to Nazis has everyone in a tizzy and has garnered lots of attention from the talking heads. Hopefully more Dems will step up to the plate and tell the truth, damn the consequences!

1. Sen. Durbin has been a straight-shooter for years
He has always spoken his mind. He is an excellent Senator and doesn't need to take a page out of anyone's playbook. He simply has to continue doing what he has been doing for years, fight for the people of Illinois.

5. That's an excellent compliment to give someone.
Calling someone a straight-shooter, that is :7

he can't think for himself. I'm just saying he got a lot of attention due to his comments.

3. People need to pay more attention to history, especially Nazi Germany.
The Germans learned the hard way. Americans better pay attention to what's going on, and I think strong words is what it's going to take. Senator Durbin is right to use the word "Nazi" if it focuses attention on what our fellow Americans are doing. Unless we condemn such actions, we will be seen as giving tacit approval.

Then those who are committing the atrocities should seek serious, serious psychological help.

4. And Durbin is not one given to heated rhetoric.
Coming from him, that statement is quite an eye-opener.

Let us remember that the Honorable Dick Durbin has put up with his fair share of nonsense from the Reich-Wing and always remained measured in his response.

7. Hitler admired what the Americans did to the Native American Indians
Hitler found that bit of American history -- extermination of Indians and putting the remaining Indians on reservations(prototypes of concentration camps) -- inspiring.

In regards to Dick Durbin, yes he took a page out of Dean's playbook, but he doesn't get the Dean award until Biden, Lieberman, Harold Ford, and the other DINO's publicly castigate him. When Lieberman goes on Faux News to blast Durbin for this comment, I'll award Durbin the "Give 'em Hell" Howard Dean award.

9. Guerrilla warfare...?
Hit from several different fronts. Confuse them so they can not focus on any one issue for hours and days at a time. If Dean, or another Democrat, came out with another controversial comment, it would lock their bowels...
