Sean Hannity had two very hostile Republican callers today on Schiavo
I had a long drive and got listening to Hannity when this very conservative guy called in and just hammered Hannity over Schiavo then a while later another hostile regular listener ripped him as well. The first caller was nailing him left and right and I heard Hannity murmur under his breath that his call screener was not working.

Now get this, Hannity STILL says he was right????? and had Mark Furman on talking about how the husband could have killed Terri by using a pillow to suffocate her. How much more absurd can this guy get?

I truly think Hannity took a hit on this. He may have lost credibility with a number of his listeners.

10. He's saying Michael
killed Terry?

Must be..the links I found to his book were from freeperville.

That autopsy must play hell with his book coming out.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. :sarcasm: (Excepting maybe "daddy schindler". I hope their "book & movie deal" tanks, too.)

2. Hannity doesn't have or need "credibility"
Just ideology. As long as they believe, facts can be damned.

5. Terri Wasn't Brain Dead AND...
The WMD must have been MOVED...

AND

The exit polls must have all been WRONG

AND

John Kerry WASN'T a war hero no matter what the documents say

AND

GWB wasn't AWOL no matter what the documents say

AND....well you could just go on and on. When the facts prove them wrong, they simply look the other way.

11. Your right...
I last heard Sean the idiot having to explain to his audience why he was whoring himself to the family and husband to be of the "runaway bride"

He wanted an exclusive, and apparently the bonehead that was going to marry that girl was a Fox fan (probably a typical viewer). Anyway, Hannity was defending her and arguing that she'd hardly done anything wrong and that she was really a sweet girl who just made an eensy weensy mistake. He clearly wanted exclusive interviews, which I believe he may have gotten, and was willing to kiss as much ass as possible to get them. The husband to be was some Southern taliban type, so Sean was naturally supportive of him.

Almost all the people I heard call his show told him he was a nimrod for supporting her.

Turns out she was a twice convicted thief, not some girl next door type. Her past history coming to light basically made him look like more of a moron than he already obviously is.

Sean Hannity has been picking some pretty silly issues to trumpet, and I do think it has tarnished his image among his fan base.

17. Yes, I think the non-religious listeners are not impressed on this
and are starting to jump ship. I think thats why Bill O'Reilly jumped to the other side on Terri Schiavo. He saw the polling and didn't want to touch it. It's not a very conservative issue and more of a religious issue. Many hard core conservatives want government out of peoples lives all the way around. Sean Hannity's bread and butter are the religious nuts and he will keep them but the true conservatives may be scratching their heads wondering if they like him now. I think they could sense he was lying through is teeth. The one guy seemed kind of pissed off and said "baloney" after a long list of lyes Hannity blurted out to twist things around and confuse people. That guy definitely sees Hannity as a scum bag now.

13. A lot of people on this very board got mighty indignant
Edited on Wed Jun-15-05 07:26 PM by impeachdubya
at the suggestion that she was brain dead. Anyone who made such an assertion was accused of "not giving a damn about the disabled", called a Nazi, that kind of thing.

I note that they are strangely silent now that the autopsy results are in.

Of course, these are generally the same folks who line up to defend pharmacists who dispense lectures instead of birth control pills.

15. An awful lot of people are strangely silent.
After all the hoopla Faux News did on the Schiavo case, there wasn't one mention (that I caught) on their nightly news with Brit Hume.

18. Hannity's listeners are brain-dead.
They'll believe whatever he tells them. They don't understand the concept of agreeing with somebody on one issue, but not on another. They think people think 100% alike.
