Does Cheney have a functioning conscience ? Serious question here
I have no clue. What bothers me is his almost total lack of emotional expression, except anger.

5. Those driven by greed first must put a dollar figure on their integrity...
Those driven by power use the end to the means to justify their actions.

Cheney's conscience justifies his emotion toward his detractors. He is a classic sociopath.

6. The ease with which he tells lies freaks me out.
He says total nonsense with such conviction, like Howard Dean, elected governer of Vermont, never WON anything??

He did the same thing during the debates, never making eye-contact, but lying his ass off with such a straight face.

He's definitely missing a vital organ.

9. He's a rich white male sociopath...
He thinks he answers to no one. He reminds me of a more sophisticated
(maybe) Tony Soprano.

11. yes, he THINKS he does
he THINKS he is doing what is best for the country, but he cannot see that this is not equivalent to what is best for the energy industry in particular, or corporate power in general.

he also does not understand, as many neocon signatories of the PNAC manifesto do not, that israel is not the 51st state.

he thinks he is a realist. he thinks that we, the green nazi america-hating tree hugging left, are delusional, and it may be so, as he is privy to the unvarnished data on the global oil supply, and america's prospects for maintaining our current consumption levels. whereas we are not trusted with that information. they think we will panic, and we must be protected from ourselves.

they have obviously done the moral calculus, & chosen war as the best option to maintain the "non-negotiable" american way of life.

14. Cheney is very objective and seems to try to make the right decision,
the far right decision, in each instance and not let conscience or sentimentality muck it up.

16. Something is seriously wrong with him.
This latest "Iraqi insurgency is in its final throes" nonsense is just more of the same. Either he's mentally ill, or he thinks I am.
