(with the 89 signatures) submitted over a month ago.

Can he do that? What if he ignores the DSM letter that Conyers is heading up?

2. He can do that.
He's not required to respond to any letters. The question is, though, what will that do for his PR?

5. Isn't Conyers supposed to present this next letter in person?
Of course, don't be surprised if the gates to the WH are locked to Conyers. This is like a subpoena to dubya........once it's in his hand he will have to recognize it exists. I don't think he wants that to happen.

8. There Is No Chance Conyers Will Hand The Letter to Bush
There is no chance he will be allowed on the White House grounds either for that matter.

What will happen is some hapless guard will have to step up and stop the procession (you don't think Conyers will be alone do you?) and he will not be empowered to accept any letter.

Then Conyers will make a statement, which if not covered by the press will clearly be the last nail in the coffin for Democracy in our nation.

6. Did you expect anyting else?
To respond would only give the issue more publicity.

There is no legal requirement for him to respond to letters submitted by members of Congress.

7. Kind of hard to ignore half a mil of signatures
And it's a BIG message to Rove. Something along the lines of "Oh Shit! They're not buying it anymore!"

9. He's not ignoring it for sport. He's ignoring it because he can't read.
Dubya makes his father sound like Dylan Thomas.

I'm encouraged by the defiance in Congress to Bush's "mandate" agenda.

Things ain't lookin' so awful good for the pseudo-cowboy.

10. If I understood Conyers correctly on Randi Rhodes
When the letter was first submitted, there were only two other congressional co-signers.

Can he do that? We'll see.

Ignore it and it will go away.

That's how they handle with everything they don't want to deal with. TOO many people are behind Conyers. This one will backfire on them.

13. When he was campaigning the first time, he ignored all the question about
his past - and got away with it! What's different?

15. What's different is, now he's accountable for what goes on in
his so-called "administration." And he's arrogantly ignoring reasonable calls for accountability. What more damning evidence evidence of guilt than silence?

I would think that all the people who are so outraged over 1) the minutes and 2) his non-response would become even more outraged.

They can't stonewall us forever. These guys are not gods-- they're not impervious to hundreds of thousands of people saying, "WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!!!"

Sooner or later something's got to give.
