Christian Wire: Southern Baptists being urged to investigate local schools
COLUMBIA, SC, June 8 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Last month Dr. Voddie Baucham, Jr., a prominent Southern Baptist lecturer, preacher, and author of The Ever-Loving Truth, and Bruce N. Shortt, co-sponsor of the 2004 Christian Education Resolution and author of The Harsh Truth About Public Schools, submitted a resolution for consideration at the SBC's 2005 Annual Meeting recommending that churches investigate their school districts to determine if their school districts have clubs, programs, or curricula that could influence children to regard homosexual behavior as an acceptable lifestyle.

With the 2005 Annual Meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention fast approaching, Robert Knight, director, Culture & Family Institute, an affiliate of Concerned Women for America; Linda Harvey, President, Mission America; and Regina Griggs, Executive Director Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays have written to the SBC's Resolutions Committee Chairman, Pastor Gene Mims, offering to provide information and testimony regarding how a growing number of public schools are collaborating with homosexual activists to influence our children to regard homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle and to silence those within the schools who disagree.

According to Robert Knight, "Far too few pastors and parents are aware of the extent to which many schools districts are collaborating with homosexual activists and the risk which that collaboration poses for our children and our culture. As the recent incidents involving the sex education curriculum in Montgomery County, Maryland, and the 'Little Black Book' in Massachusetts clearly demonstrate, homosexual activists are becoming much more aggressive. I would be happy to assist the committee in any way I can to provide the facts they need as the members consider the Baucham-Shortt resolution."

The Baucham-Shortt resolution encourages every SBC church to investigate whether the school district in which it is located has either a homosexual club or any curriculum or program that attempts to influence children to accept homosexual behavior as a legitimate lifestyle. If the school district has any of these, the resolution urges churches to inform parents of this fact and encourage them to remove their children from the district's schools immediately.

1. A home economic class which has boys in it could be considered as
catering to homosexuals in the minds of these idiots.

Do they really think homosexuals are the problem in our society? And has anyone asked how, specifically, homosexuals are a threat to our society? I'd love to hear the response to that question.

Fucking morans.

3. Of course
NONE of these people have an Aunt Josie or an Uncle John who is gay. I often wonder about this. Do they pretend their relatives don't exist? Do they FORBID their blood relatives anywhere near their kids?

4. "It's different."
Seriously. They compartmentalize it. Anyone they personally know who is gay, that's OK. They can't help it. It's all the rest of 'em that are sinful freaks.

11. And if one of them dies of AIDS, then they get
self-righteous about their relative "violating God's laws." I've heard one say it. About her brother. At a Christmas dinner party. She said it with the same degree of emotion as if she was talking about a substitute postman.

22. My father does that
Pisses me off to no end. How he can be so ashamed of his own baby brother to lie about how he died, I don't know. If my grandmother was still alive to hear him do it, she'd probably beat him with her cane.

7. I wish they would immediately remove their children.
Then, perhaps my kids will quit being upset by the shit that is said to them and that they hear kids saying at school! My 4th grader was harassed all year long by kids who aren't really old enough to fully understand what the heck they're talking about. The 15 yr. old had a kid he used to be friendly with make the statement post-election, "I'm glad that Bush** was re-elected. Now with the republicans totally in control maybe we can start rounding up all of the gays to execute them."

I'm really sick of my kids being exposed to this crap touted by these hateful, "god fearing", braindead twerps.

Rant off.

14. My son is being harassed at school for not being a Christian.
I'm starting to get really angry whenever I hear someone say that Christians are so persecuted in this country. Pardon me, but I'm all out of pity.

10. I hope these baptivists are being consistent
and also encouraging the schools to inform parents if the school is promoting religion by allowing a Christian club, or boy scouts, or singing gospel songs in choir class, or teaching "intelligent design" or using "the silver ring thing" curriculum. And I hope they are pressuring the parents to yank kids from the schools in those instances too.

I'm sure they'd be doing that, right? Because they aren't trying to shove their beliefs down our throats; they're just making sure that students don't get exposed to new things at school. Right?

12. They Want Their Kids to Become Bigots Like Themselves
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 03:39 PM by AndyTiedye
http://www.exodusmandate.org/art_20050509-sbc-resolution.htm

Dr. Baucham believes it is urgent that Christian parents become better informed: "...these schools can hide behind stealth phrases like tolerance, safe schools, multiculturalism, and safer sex, parents are often unaware of the dangers lurking beneath the surface. Moreover, parents who speak up are often branded as narrow-minded bigots with outdated values....

That is because they are narrow-minded bigots with outdated values!

Robert Knight, director, Culture & Family Institute...: "Under the rubric of "diversity," "tolerance," "safe schools," and AIDS education, homosexual activists are selling a pansexual agenda.... They gain access to public schools by initiating something with obvious appeal, such as the anti-bullying program "No Name-Calling Week." Such projects are a Trojan horse for promoting homosexuality as normal and inevitable for some kids. Parents then find themselves being accused of bigotry....

When these people actually defend the bullying of kids who are different,
it is hard to come to any other conclusion than that they are bigots!

they are talking about dropping the boycott of Disney for Gay Days. I guess too many of their kids are being baby-sat by the Disney Channel--(when they are supposed to be studying for their next home-school test)-figured they couldn't win.

17. Jebus! These people are clearly obsessed with gay sex!
They think about it so much that they see it in every nook and cranny, behind every tree and bush, in every cartoon, video game, movie, video and commercial in existence.

I'm a dyke and I don't think about lesbian sex a millionth of the time they do!
