I'm a DUmmy, and PROUD of it!!!!!
I see the latest nickname the unimaginative morans have tried to label us with is DUmmy, or DUmmie.

I'll be their DUmmie, or as Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday said,"I'll be your huckleberry".

14. I can bet the response to this, no joke
Watch them say: "because you are a soap opera". Or something equally unoriginal.

I understand their obsession. They are soulless, unethical, and un-American, so their obsession is par for the course.

Of course there is also the fact that, once again, given that they will never take a moment of their time to do anything productive, honest, or that might help someone else, they are left with equivalent of "don't burn our flag or our stem cells" genre. It is a lot more simple and does not require real sacrifice for them to scream about intangible things, but you will never see them making that same effort for something tangible.

Stem Cells = important
Starving Children = nope

Flag burning = moral outrage
Constitution burning = don't care

Support the Troops in war = always
Support them when they are back from war = never

You see, this type of brain death and single thought reality does not give them much else to do other than to either watch soap opera's or label everything a soap opera so they can watch it.

42. I think they're constantly looking for excuses
for maintaining their death-grip on rightwing lies. They need scripts (from Rove to Rush to Fox, in that order) to make excuses and come up with rationales. Examples:

"Duh, yeah but the recession started under Clinton!"
"Duh, yeah but tax cuts always increase revenues!"
"Duh, yeah but everybody thought Saddam had WMDs!"
"Duh, yeah but Kerry faked his wounds!"
"Duh, yeah but we've liberated those people!"

The list goes on forever.

I think they hear something in the news (on rare occasions) that sparks a little cognitive dissonance, and they go, "Huh? There must be some excuse for that." (Except they think of it as an "explanation.")

So they wait uncomfortably until Rove/Rush/Fox provides it. Then they parrot it. Then they run here to see how it's playing, feeling "smart."

10. Hey, any name is better
Than the actual truth of who/what they are. I am not even sure what name is appropriate for people who:

1). Support torture
2). Exploit 9/11 for political reasons (dear idiots, if you are reading this, don't even attempt to faux react to my statement... unlike most of you, I actually do own 9/11.)

3). Support exploitation of faith for political purposes
4). Will fight for a stem cell, but not for a living person
5). Will fight for a stem cell, but not support our troops (dear idiots, again, no faux reaction please because in order to support our troops, you would have to NOT support an administration who, among other things, forces injured troops to pay for their own food while in hospital)

6). Burn the Constitution
7). Believe in a king and lords, not in a Republic/Democracy
8). Racist (Dear idiots, don't throw Janice Brown the "daughter of a sharecropper" crap at us, the woman for reasons only her psychiatrist probably knows opposes the Civil Rights Act)

9). Are so Christian that people like G. Gordon Liddy and Bush represent their moral values (lmao, sorry still laughing here)

10). Are so brain dead that they don't realize that the people in office now are not Republicans, Democrats or anything remotely American.

Obviously, their is a great deal more and much worse. So being called a dummy by faux Americans who watch faux news and are faux Christians is like a badge of honor.

34. Again, I don't find a
"this" for "that" approach appropriate when dealing with life or death issues. Parents with children in the war, much like the soldiers, need to hold on to something to justify the loss or possible loss. They cannot simply just say "my child died for nothing." For some, that is far too difficult and they are as much victims as everyone else. Others have been able to say that and come out against the war. Perhaps they are stronger or have better coping skills.

The point is, that is hitting below the belt and not appropriate at all.

Geological consultant turned Special Forces trainer turned injued Somali vet turned former Mexican drug dealer turned gas station owner, dating a woman who is, IIRC, a cross between Beyonce and Halle Berry, drives a Hummer, has a one-eyed war hero daughter named Jazz who, as he put it, has "big fun bubbles". This guy has more unbelievable stories than Usenet.

:eyes:

SA is certainly pathetic and probably pretty sick, too. But he lost my sympathy with Fun Bubbles.

37. Holy cow... so someone sent me a link
To a post in the bowls of moral inequity and brain collapse, otherwise known as Cult Uranus, and I went to check it out. Okay, so not that makes to visits there and two visits to Freak parade.

The link there was to this thread here. Now here is what I found really disturbing about those people. They actually talk about particular posters here as though they know them. I kid you not, like some obsessive psychotic un-fan club: stalkers in other words. Really very freaky. I am sure most of you know this, but it seems I just learned this today. I knew they refereed to specific people all the time in some way or another. But the devotion and obsessiveness of it all is really disturbing.

Can anyone actually name a single poster there or know their personality based on tracking their posts?

The other thing that really proves my point about moral bankruptcy is as follows:

Note how at DU in my post above with regard to a parent of a child at war, I defend the parent and the right of that parent (regardless of who they are) to psychologically deal with this mess in any way they need to. I do not judge them and I don't much like when others do judge them.

Yet if you go to the link of this conversation there, you won't see that mentioned. It is completely omitted. Interesting, no? So not only do they hate, but even when someone sticks up for one of them on principle, they cannot see past their own hate.

Unreal. By the way, their comments about a 9/11 survivor (won't list her name here, but someone who I know and respect) are way out of line and prove once again how little these people regard the victims of 9/11. And they have the indecency to call us unpatriotic. I would love to meet one of them at ground zero and have them tell me and other 9/11 survivors, to our faces (not hiding behind a nickname) just how we are "overreacting".

40. Speed...
DU, this is in response to something on a different board because I have no way of communicating with that poster in particular and some in general, but I need to say some of this. So please do not jump in, I just want to leave these message, not have an argument about it with anyone. Thank you:

Speed:

I did see your post just now, but it was buried in "rounding up people to put in camps" kind of thing so it confused me. This silly cross board posting is just that silly, feel free to IM me at larisastranded if you wish to converse. The below is not for you, but others having a 9/11 trash session.

RANT SESSION (start)

To the "others" who think I simply "lived" in NYC. I don't think you have any ethical right to make assumptions about what happened to me and mine on 9/11. It is, just as the whole parent comment, not appropriate and beneath any real ethical standard. I need not go into my experience in a public forum to satisfy curiosity and that does not mean my experience is somehow, as a result, diminished. When I say "I own 9/11" what I mean is, every person who lived in NYC near ground zero and in general, lost someone on those flights, or lost someone at the Pentagon owns 9/11 to some extent, but it is their tragedy.

The NATION AS A WHOLE FORGOT THE VICTIMS and as a result, cannot claim any sort of ownership of what has become a localized tragedy.. and here is why (just a few gripes from us "un-Americans" and "un-patriotic" victims of 9/11):

1). Victims of 9/11 had to hold vigils begging the US government to convene and investigation. BEGGING, CALLING, sending letters, you name it. Why? How is this ethical to make them have to fight for what should have been a national priority?

2). Osama's family in the country and the Saudi royals were all flown out of the country within days, without being questioned, or detained. Now I did not get this from a movie, really, I actually read (silly me). This is fact!!

3). The victims filed a case against the Saudi family in part for extradition purposes. James Baker steps into to defend NOT the victims but the Saudies... why? What about the victims who cannot afford such a high paid attorney?

4). And my favorite is that instead of brining to justice the bastards who attacked us, their families, and financiers... our President "fixed the facts around the policy" to settle an old debt with someone else who had nothing do to with any of it. Where is the justice?

So please do spare me the display of nationalism and cult like support of a war that has nothing to do with the people who died here, on this soil, in your own country.

Now, they want to build office buildings over a grave site, how about that? Did any of the 9/11 victims get to sit in on this planning of the need to build over graves?

End of Rant

I've only seen a few of their threads from links here. I don't know any of their screen names, nor would I be able to place any of the personalities with the names. However one thing struck me as I read post after post...nearly every one was filled with intense vitrol. These people are all mean, hateful, angry people.

Not the sort I would want to associate with.
