Is the internet turning out to be the Reapers' achilles heel?
Listening to Randi it occured to me how wonderful it is to have the net and, now, Air America, to keep the 'faith' alive. I am consistently stunned by how 'subversive' AAR really is. Broadcast over the public airwaves.

And, just listening to it, I realize how much the net is contributing to the generation of these ideas. The net is pretty much the greatest resistance tool ever invented.

Pretty cool.

4. That's why we're all still here at this great site.
I don't think a peep would have been heard about the DSM were it not for AAR and the internets. It does work! And welcome!! :toast:

5. I'm beginning to wonder long term how great internet is.
it is providing corporations with more asymmetrical information about people. same with government.

I'd say the powerful forces such as NSA, Wal-Mart, Microsoft, etc. are going to be able to exploit the riches of information and sheer volumes of data to maximize their control over us.

But I agree in these early heady days of the internet (really just over 10 years) the wild west feeling of freedom to exhange ideas is great.

6. If they want to capitalize on what they learn in here... they will
have to consider a regime change at home.

8. The internet is great but..........
we all have to hide our identities and we never get to meet each other face to face.

Whether through DU meet-ups, protests, etc., contact has been made.

11. Do you ever go to your state's forum? That's a
really good place to start. If no one has instigated some social meet-up, perhaps ask blatantly who lives near you? And let it roll. Good luck; it has happened, and very successfully from what I'd read on DU.
