OK guys. Give it a fugging break already
Dean said this. Clark said that. Na, na, na, na, na, na. Geesh. And I know some are saying right now well, its them damn Deanies causing all of the trouble. And someone else is thinking well, it is all of those damn Clarkies causing all of the trouble. We have a very diverse crowd here at DU. Whether you realize that or not? Lots of people with different ideas. So lets respect one another here. Is that too much to ask for? For cryng out loud. If I see another Dean is too liberal to beat Bush, or another Clark wanted to start WW III at Pristina thread I am going to do a backflip out of this chair. Forget the damn minutiae for a while. Lets talk about their position of issues that will effect us right now. There are many important issues that are never discussed here and I will not list them all either. Here is one to get started on. What is the exit strategy for leaving Iraq of any candidate? Has anyone heard a viable one yet? And don't forget. There is a debate coming up this week. Save a little bandwidth for after that.

1. I agree
the key for us to focus on is to beat Bush. So support your candidate, ask questions if you're not sure about a candidate's position, but don't bash. No point.

5. I'm seriously wondering
if all these weanies doing virtually nothing in here but bashing this or that candidate aren't even old enough to vote. If they are, then there's definitely a lot more wrong with our education system that let them graduate high school.

And naturally, they'll conveniently forget that they spent all this time bashing whoever threatens the candidate they support and wave that flag for whoever goes against Bush... selective memory is so Repug.

This site would make a killing selling diapers to all the crybabies in here.

22. It makes you wonder, P423.
50+ Presidential primary seasons and counting. This one is no different than the others, it's just that the stakes are higher this time.

4. Almost forgot. Just so you know where I stand
I think there are 4, maybe 5, viable Democratic candidates out there. None of which I would be disappointed with. Though I will be pulling a straight Democratic lever next year no matter who is running with no regrets. The stakes are too high this primary and election. Higher than in any primary or election that I have participated in. Though I like the 4 or 5 better than the others equally, I think the one to watch is Edwards. His looks will get him a long way. It is unfortunate that looks play into any election, but the fact is that it does. That is why I could not get elected dog catcher.

9. I really looked at Edwards on Jon Stewart's show
and he is very handsome, love the way he talks, am trying to find out more about him. It's been difficult to pick out one, because every one of the ten are so good. In all my years, I've never seen such a good list of qualified candidates.

8. Don, I Don't Think I've Ever Thanked You
For all that you contribute to this website...

Thank You! :)

I've been spending alot more time offline lately and avoiding a great deal of the threads and posts that you mentioned.

The Democrats have great candidates. I am optimistic about our winning the Presidency and hope for the best in the House and Senate.

10. I can honestly say
that whichever of our candidates we nominate, I will happily and proudly go to the polls to vote for him or her. Sure, I support Dean in the primary, and I'm full out behind him. I think he will literally catapult Bush out of the White House. But if the majority of other Democrats don't agree with me, so be it. I may not feel as strongly about the nominee if it isn't Dean, but you can be damn sure I'll be voting for him/her!

I sure hope Lieberman dosn't get the nod, that would turn me green, (as in sick, and I may not make it to the polling booth).

16. Think about what you are saying Warren
Edited on Sun Sep-21-03 06:14 PM by NNN0LHI
Even if we say that Lieberman has exactly the same opinion on terrorism and Iraq as Bush does, (which I don't believe he does by the way) on damn near everything else they are polar opposites. This includes everything from Supreme Court nominations to a womens right to choose. So where do we gain with four more years of Bush? I don't get it.

registering voters, I strike up conversations w/ persons registering Democratic. I find many have yet 2 settle on a candidate but we all seem 2 B celebrating the great CHOICE we have. There is a great field of candidates. The Dems have a choice - the rethugs do not!

18. Kucinich has been calling for the US to meet with the UN and

decide on an exit strategy since June, if not earlier. I'm 99% sure he introduced a House resolution to that effect in June. I think we must involve the UN and the sooner the better. Our presence in Iraq puts our troops at risk and causes Arabs and other Muslims to resent the US.

Of course the common bash of Kucinich is that he's "unelectable."

We should be discussing what positions the Democratic Party should advocate and what positions the different candidates advocate rather than subjective judgements on who's electable or who's best looking. And we should vote in the primary for the candidate with the best positions, the one we agree with most, regardless of whether or not he or she is considered "electable." If we don't do that, we aren't communicating our wishes to our party.

20. I like DK's ideas on Iraq a lot
It is also beginning to look like DK's ideas are getting very close to the majority of the American peoples views on the Iraq war too. That is a very good thing. If DK gets the nomination I will proudly pull the lever for him next year. That is a promise.
