new "crowd dispersing" weapon
Edited on Sat Jun-04-05 07:27 PM by annabanana
It emits narrowly focused, painful, bursts of sound. I read about this technology in a Science news magazine about 1-2 years ago. It can be so narrowly focused that the person standing next to you might not hear it, even as it brings you to your knees.

A crawl on CNN mentioned that it had been used against a Palastinian demonstration.

This horrifies me, as I feel that the administration would have no qualms about using this "non-lethal" crowd control device against American citizens.

And you can leave your tin-foil bonnet at home on this one..

1. That's nothing - they were just talking about a MICROWAVE weapon
But it's ok because it only can penetrate the top few milimeters of skin causing unbearable pain.

...

Actually, tinfoil armor might work against that!

13. 8 and 10
my 10 year old has been to every protest with me in the last three years. They were all in state so I have not really worried about his safety. He really wants to go to NYC or DC for a big one. I am too scared to take him or his brother now.
:(

10. We used this fancy weapon against Palestinians - for the benefit of
Sharon? Sting them, poison them, kill them, but NEVER make PEACE with them.

At ground targets from space based paltforms. They are designed as bunker busting tech. No explosives used, just mass, and accerleration.

18. actually Rods from God is a Guckert specialty
Edited on Sat Jun-04-05 09:43 PM by SlavesandBulldozers
it was very popular with his moral God-fearing clientele. That's why nobody talks about it, because Scotty gets shivers up his spine anytime he thinks about The Rod of God and the Cannon of Gannon - not to be mistaken for The Canaan Cannon which I believe is a patented Jimmy Swaggart hotel room specialty.

14. The Germans were actually working on a...
sound-pulse type weapon, for AA use in WWII. I guess we employed a few more nazis, than those working on rockets.
