4. oh, goodie!
You know, you can never see that charming couplet of GHWB and Paula Zahn a'spinnin' and a'grinnin' together too many times.

CNN should really ditch reporting the news and just repeat this execrable trash over and over...oh wait...

5. How This Network Has Gone To Hell
Watching them pat themselves on the back the past week made me think of all the good stuff CNN used to have, but doesn't now.

There was that marvelous Cold War series Turner himself commissioned. There also were regular documentaries by other independent producers...that's how we originally learned about the abuse of women inside Afghanistan. Now it's another suck-up to the BFEE.

Also, there was a great weekend show called the CNN World Report. This was on for years featuring news reports from various foreign broadcasters. Some were very crude, but a great insight into many countries and cultures that made CNN unique both in this country and internationally.

Now, we get Fly Boy, endless repeats of puff pieces for Time/Warner magazines and little, if any NEWS.

From being a loyal 24/7 CNN viewer for nearly 20 years, I now scan past it...and with less and less frequency. With Leslie Blitzer doing 3 hours every day, my picture tube and stomache can't handle that much smarmy.

Look like the new bosses at CNNServative are finishing the job the former mismanagers started.

7. I remember when I'd run to turn on CNN when breaking news happened
You could always count on them. Now, you can just as surely count on them having a Jacko story or Bush profile on any time you tune in, then you scramble to the internet for REAL news.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Or sold their souls.

8. They Don't Break News...The Fracture It
If it isn't the manufactured news stories like the Runaway Bride or the the babe who was held hostage or a Schaivo, Jacko, Peterson or a bunch of other low risk stories. These are easy to cover...pretty much are arranged for their cameras and will draw a quick spike of viewers. It also helps when you create that story in your part of the country...Atlanta and the south...far away from the other networks, so it takes a day or so for them to catch up. Bring on the usual talking heads, play up the titlation and it's cheap, easy program that can run for hours or days on end.

Then there's the "Terror" alerts. Yes, there was a time CNN was the "go-to" network or even better the "Network of Record" on national and international events. It's 24/7 open-ended nature was it's charm. It could provide a steady stream of information intermixed with live coverage of other events. There was a balance that is now gone.

What is most interesting is how this network continues to destroy itself. It reaches less viewers on its most popular show than most major market LOCAL newscasts.

9. Right. I left CNN on all day
to always have the latest news. I can't remember the last time I watched that network. Cold Turkey...no MSM.

that have a somewhat 'positive spin' for repukes. Is this the only one?
