31% It was completely legitimate 151,715
22% He may have stretched a little, but the overall reasoning was sound 110,005

1. Though not scientific, that is a result that would NOT have been
obtained even a month ago. Like a giant, underpowered ship at sea, public opinion is turning at last. And what is interesting is that this is quite a specific question and requires the person to have been paying some kind of attention.

3. I use aol (I know, I know) but rarely vote in their polls.
I usually just ignore all the aol junk and come straight to DU or other sites I like. But I do scan the opening screen as it loads. Today this poll was right out there on the opening screen--so lots of people will have seen it that don't usually. I voted too--and was encouraged by the results, especially considering the fairly large sample.

And then I did something I have never done (and may never do again--it was so fast and crazy)--I went to the chat room. 47 people were on line, about 10 of them rabid RWers (someone suggested blocking them for sanity, so I did--nothing lost, just screamed epithets). What was left was pretty amazing. Just like DU, only abbreviated and, as I said, moving much too fast, everyone talking/typing at once. Talk of AWOL, Patriot Act, criminal foreign policy. One lady with a nephew in Iraq hating Bush*, one with a husband who just lost his job hating Bush*. I don't really have a sense of what kind of people frequent the aol chatrooms, but these people were really mad, wanting Bush* OUT. It was palpable. (I didn't post because in trying to log the chat--so I could bring it here--I knocked myself off the board and couldn't find it again. Anyway, it made me a little dizzy it moved so fast. But someone had said there were 15 boards all talking about that poll. That's a lot of energy!)

2. Look at where it was posted too
On AOL. They're one of the big media conglomerates. I guess this will be a sign to them that the wind is shifting.

5. "Deliberately misled the public." Er, that's like lying, right?
So where is the outrage for impeachment?
