Poll question: Click here if you love your kids' PUBLIC school.
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 10:45 AM by UdoKier
Let's call it a shout-out to our great PUBLIC school teachers, the vast majority of whom do an AWESOME job and go beyond the call of duty for CRAP pay, and often even buy supplies with their own money!

9. the best
My kids are in High School, and their education has been great!

Only 1 semester had problems, this was due to teacher turnover in the middle of the year. The principal knew me well!

They both are excellent students.
Their school keeps on winning awards
and I never had any desire to transfer them to a public school.

2. I posted in a similar thread
regarding public schools. I have two in elementary and am very pleased with the teachers, administrators and curriculum. Our schools and teachers don't get the respect (or pay!) they deserve.

3. We lucked out and our child goes to one of the best school
districts in our town. They have only 20 per class and over 100,000 in the PTA fund.....

4. Gotta be careful w/ the big PTA fund or you'll lose tax exempt status.
We have to spend out each year to remain exempt. This year, it's sound baffles for our careteria. They look like big flags. Cool!

6. No options?
What is this, the Soviet Union?

I like public schools (could use some fixing) but give us a choice like they're good but need work.

8. It's not a poll. It's a show of support for public schools & teachers.
You want to rag on them? Start your own thread.

7. Our high school got national ranking in Newsweek.
Somewhere in the 600's out of some 25,000 high schools.

12. Ours Too - Number 17 - Wootton - Non-Magnet School
Fortunate to live in a very Blueish County....

Montgomery County had the following rankings:

11, 17, 29, 71, 80, 107, 154, 175, 286, 314, 318, 354, 396 (my alma mater), 416, 443, 445, 495, 553, 633, 658, 714, 733, 785,

Every High School in the County made the top 1,000. We also have a Majority Minority Population (less than 50% Caucasian). So, all you racists can go fuck your stupid selves......

To all the MoCo Public School Teachers (and conscientious parents) I say THANKS A LOT and I pay my taxes with a sense of accomplishment.
