Trudeau, Yale classmates diss Bolton publicly!
Heard about this on CSPAN this a.m.

June 3, 2005
12:39am EDT

Bulldog Veterans for Voinovich
"Yale classmates of Bolton's said Tuesday he is unfit for the job" of U.N. ambassador, the Associated Press reports:

Yale classmates of Bolton's wrote to senators to oppose the nomination.

The 76 signers include cartoonist Garry Trudeau, who lampooned Bolton in his "Doonesbury" strip in May. Others were fellow members of the Class of 1970 who participated in a 35th reunion over the Memorial Day weekend.

"We are embarrassed and ashamed that the Bush administration has nominated someone so manifestly unsuited to represent our country at the United Nations," the Yale classmates wrote.

"As his classmates, we do not believe that Mr. Bolton has exhibited the values of civility, light and truth which our shared institution represents."

This is quite a contrast with the hostile coverage the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth got--especially considering that the man they were criticizing was portraying himself as some kind of war hero, whereas Bolton has never, so far as we know, made a big deal of his achievements at Yale.

1. And the Swifties relate to this HOW?
I didn't see these folks from Yale saying that Bolton lied about his time at Yale. In fact, all I see them doing is confirming that Bolton's shitty attitude towards life was already set in stone back when he was a young man.

13. Another example of "balanced" not being "fair".

3. Bolton listed as "deceased" on alum list & didn't get a reunion invite!

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

I heard that on CSPAN earlier today. Peter the RW host mentioned it during open call time. I think that Bolton and Trudeau were in the same class. Oh, the irony!

8. Well, here goes...
I'd hate to have my career at a more advanced age stomped on by people with which I attended school or college. I was pretty immature then, and I think it is possible for people to change. If I were a senator, I don't know how much credit I would give to such a letter of opposition.

Of course, with Bolton, he's probably too arrogant an asshole to ever change, except in the worst ways. So, I hope the senators consider the letter seriously.

and we all know the current Bolton is unfit to serve the institution America created he DESPISES.

this is another big fat TELL by the neoCONs and their arrogance will contribute certainly to their inevitable downfall the only question that remains in my mind is will they take us ALL down with them :scared:

15. Yeah, he does, doesn't he?
I guess some people are incapable of personal growth. What a crappy manager he must be, to have to be so nasty to people to get what he wants from them.

14. A Bush supporting coworker said before the election...
that she could only hope that the "light" would win in reference to who would win the presidential race. I almost gagged in her face! (I definitely guffawed!)

I don't know how these people can think as they do...
