BOTH companies get money from their governments. Only in Bush's World is it wrong for Airbus to get it but OK for Boeing....
IMHO, Boeing is shitting their pants over the number of orders for the new Airbus 380. They missed that market and now it is cutting into their 747 sells.

cover.Boeing gets its subsidies in the form of no bid defense contracts like the mid air refueling systems for the airforce.Airbus gets its subsidies in a more direct form from the European governments intent on preserving jobs.
There is essentially no difference between the two companies. What should be obvious is that the monies involved are so huge it is beyond the scope of any one corporation to take a gamble of that magnitude.
There is room for both companies if only all will realize that this is the only way the game is going to have to be played until China and India enter the picture and take it all away.So, have fun while it lasts.
