Condom ads going primetime
I did a search but didn't find anything ... I don't think this was posted yet. :-)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two major TV networks agreed to run a new campaign for Trojan condoms on primetime Tuesday, according to the New York Post.
<snip>
There are no laws banning condom ads in primetime, but the networks have taken the position that it invites backlash from family-values advocates, the newspaper said.
"I expect there will be people who do feel a need to react negatively because we're discussing sexuality," said Jim Daniels, vice president of marketing for Trojan. "I hope most people will see this and acknowledge that these are responsible and appropriate discussion points."
I smell another boycott in the air! :P
1. Oh Boy!
More meaningless press about the media, by the media, and for the media.
Trojan will just love the publicity when the Repugs explode about this. The MSM will love the profits from the ads and will fiercly promote them by featuring the controversy front and center, and above-the-fold in their news.
What Downing Street Minutes? We can't cover that when we have this huge Trojan condom controversy that has everybody up in arms.
2. So, it's OK to have tampon and genital herpes commercials DURING THE DAY,
but not a condom commercial at night?
Go figure.
3. Well, they could do a partnership ad like Ore-Ida & the ketchup commercial
"buy these pills to make your dick hard and pull one of our rubbers down over it. No serial numbers!"
:eyes:
4. Okay, let's see. There is Viagra,
Cialis and Levitra. Excuse me but which one tells you to call for medical help if your erection lasts more than 24 hours? (Great! I'll remember that!) Oh yeah, then there are those corny commercials for Enzyte: the "Natural Male Enhancement". Have I left anything out?
Guess I'll sit back and watch the fire works! Cheers!!
:P
