This is a test of the left-wing blogosphere!
Sign the Conyers' letter <http://www.johnconyers.com/>

"This is a test of the left-wing blogosphere," said Jim Pinkerton, syndicated columnist and regular contributor to FOX News Watch, who pointed out that The Sunday Times article came out just before the British election and apparently had little effect on voters' decisions.

"IN MANY WAYS THAT MEMO MIGHT PROVE ALL OF THE ARGUMENTS THE CRITICS OF THE WAR HAVE MADE," he added. "But the bulk of Americans don't agree, or don't seem that alarmed, so it is a power test to see if they can drive it back on the agenda."

Downing Street Memo Mostly Ignored in U.S.

Wow! When you Google "John Conyers" the 4th link down is "Downing Street Memo".

6. Isn't the quote amazing? The guy ADMITS that the memo proves
everything we've been saying all along about *'s lies -- and then says SO WHAT? The media isn't covering the story, so people don't know about it, and because people don't know they aren't reacting with anger and even if they were reacting the media wouldn't cover it so it wouldn't be real. If a minority wants to influence the majority they have to repeat, repeat, repeat themselves.

12. You read the Nader/Zeese piece in the Boston Globe...?
THE IMPEACHMENT of President Bush and Vice President Cheney, under Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution, should be part of mainstream political discourse.

16. True test. Make it happen. We should have 1,000,000 signatures on that ...
.... letter before June 15th. Anything less is a wimp-out.

Peace.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - how ever long it takes, the day must come when tens of millions of caring individuals peacefully but persistently defy the dictator, deny the corporatists cash flow, and halt the evil being done in Iraq and in all the other places the Bu$h neoconster regime is destroying civilization and the environment in the name of "America."

or Progressive Democrats of America. Do you have contacts?

22. Just contact Will Pitt for PDAmerica and, as for MoveOn, call ...
... someone in Congressman Conyers office tomorrow am and ask them to contact MoveOn (that is likely to be most effective). And, contact Brad Friedman at Brad Blog and ask him to contact Congressman Conyers, as well.

Just suggestions.

Peace.

18. Downing Street is nothing new
That's why the media don't give a rat's ass. Hell--Paul O'Neill, Bush's own Secretary of the Treasury, said exactly the same thing in his book. Richard Clarke said exactly the same thing in HIS book. Maybe the third time's the charm, but I don't see why a British memo is going to be more compelling than the word of two former Bush administration officials--insider eyewitnesses, no less.

20. has more impact when...
a) it's in writing
b) said writing is not (yet) on sale at Barnes & Noble for $19.95.

not to say Clarke was lying, this is just more airtight proof - not intended for public consumption.

26. It's the first time that they can't argue sour grapes!
With O'neil and Clarke, they said it was all a case of sour grapes.

Since no one in the Uk worked FOR the Bush administration, they can't use their #1 argument.

Yes! That's right, Faux Fake-News! We have to do media's work! Not journalists, mind you - but the media. Ba$tard$ everyone of them!

If you read between their lines, not hard to do, they're blaming Americans for not caring... PIGS!

27. more douchebaggery, dwell on process not substance is their way
instead of discussing the validity of the memo and its importance in redefining the history of how america went to war, the right wing shill misdirected the discussion away from facts and instead focused on the proverbial horserace of whether or not the antiwar side gains from its release.

this twists the topic from a matter of objective truthfulness to one of subjective process, and is an effective smokescreen to hide the importance of the truth.
