The wisdom and native intelligence of George W Bush (aka idiot son)
Before and just after the 2000 elections we were told that idiot son got where he was by forever being underestimated. The would have us believe that he's cunning and wise beneath that faux folksy charm he exudes. They would have us believe he's a wise and determined leader, always focused on his goals.

And you know ...... I sorta, kinda, partially bought into that.

Not that he's of above average intelligence. But that he was of at **least** average intelligence and that, more importantly, he might actually have some street smarts. I never for a moment felt he was a good leader (or even any sort of leader, for that matter). Nor that he was a deep thinker. I never thought too much of him.

But I did buy into the the 'underestimated' meme.

Nope. Not no mo'

That man is just plain stupid. I mean that with no hint of hyperbole or irony. He is just plain dumb. A simpleton. The village idiot. A dimwit. Forrest Gimp's admirer. The kid no one wanted to hang around with. The kid your mom told you to stay away from.

I'm guessing an IQ of what ....... ? ..... 80? Maybe 85?

The makings of a good ..... I dunno .... at the risk of sounding insulting (I **honestly** don't mean to be) ....... a good ......... janitor? Machine oiler? School bus driver? Fry cook? Mailboy?

Saying he was lacking in 'intellectual curiosity' was a gross overstatement.

Folks .... he's stupid.

But you probably knew that. I'm sometimes a bit slow on the ol' uptake myowndamnedself. Probably cuz I'm a polyanthony. Rose colored glasses. You know ...... a clown at heart. Seeing the best in people.

For the longest time, I was doubting my lying eyes.

I can not, for the very life of me, recall even a scripted comment of his that had a modicum of sustainability to it.

No, idiot son is worthy of the term. Were it not for his handlers, he'd be caught with a finger pulling a booger from his nose. Actually ..... he was.

But I digress.

He is a puppet. He's a 'trainable'. He's the product of some warped vocational school for the stupid but politically useful scions of the rich and worthless.

I say all this because I no longer fear him.

Instead I fear to my core his handlers. To say he's been enabled is just plain wrong. The fact is quite the opposite. He's enabled his invisible handlers to get what they want. And he's too stupid to even know he's been used.

I will, to be sure, continue to rant and rail at him. But I'm now smart enough to know that, for me as for his handlers, he is but a prop. An empty suit. He is the target of convenience that represents the true target of my anger.

He's shorthand for all that is evil in the world today.

But he's not the cause of it.

He's just a sad, uninvolved, intellectually inferior scion of the rich who has been called to act as strawman. A boy in a man suit who prefers riding his tricycle and ringing the little thumb bell to doing any real work.

He is, indeed ........ America's Idiot Son.

.... and not a single photoshpped image in the bunch ......

Poppy and Babs should be proud.

1. I used to think of him as 'bush the lesser' but now he's 'bush the least'
he's got quite a few politicians in his family, present and past - and through his mother's family (not sure how many) - and shrub has got to be the biggest failure of them all.

3. He's an idiot. Being in Texas, I've known that since the 80s. However
He has an extremely aggressive bully instinct. You know how bullies are usually the big dumb kids who just have a knack for knowing how to manipulate people? That's W. He knows instinctively how to set someone up. He knows how to squirm out of an answer or a lie. He knows how to cut, mock, ridicule and insult someone to make them a laughing stock. And he knows how to do it and not get caught. He's the guy in your fifth grade class who slapped you on the back of the head until you finally snapped and yelled at him. You got in trouble, because the teacher never caught him, only you.

That's not intelligence. It's just a pure animal instinct, like an ant digging a hole or a fish swimming upstream. But it is what he's good at. It isn't all Karl Rove. Some of that monster is actually Bush.

8. I can't remember who here calls him this here, but I like the name...
..."Dimson," and I think you're giving him a LOT of credit, saying his IQ could be 85, that's only "Low Average." He's definitely in the 70-75 range.

I.Q. is a measure, not of what you know, or as * would say, "How smart a Feller is," It's a measure of of your ability to "figure things out" or, as the WH likes to say, "connect the dots."

9. The thing that gets me is that people do not recognize the pure evil...
...in this man's expression. It is so clear when you look at those pictures that he is criminally insane like Manson was. Everyone is the victim of an unflattering photo but I've never seen anything like this. I never saw bad pic's of the Big Dawg. I truly think these pictures reflect his soul.

Even if someone is not conventionally attractive, usually you can see the beauty or essence of their being shining through. Not true in this case. It is truly scary but I'm just suffering from outrage fatigue.

He certainly seems to be lacking many of the higher order functions like:

critical self-examination,

self-awareness,

situational awareness,

responsibility,

humility,

remorse,

regret,

forgiveness,

the ability to learn from mistakes,

sense of historical context,

a healthy sense of Shame

a sense of irony,

sense of hypocrisy,

the ability to tell right from wrong,

ethical consistency,

a sense of Social Debt,

a sense of Humanitarian responsibility,

among others.

17. Dumbing Down America
Bush got where he is today by stealing two national elections. But also, he got where he is because he has been responsible for the dumbing down of America.

He makes fun of himself not being able to pronounce words. He let it be known to his staff that he's not into reading, and he goes to bed by 9 PM. He had made being dumb look cute to the American people.

And I blame the media for this. During the last campaign they painted Bush as someone you would want to sit down and have a beer with.

Never mind that he lied about the need to take us to war. Never mind that he has presided over the worse net job loss in over 70 years. Never mind that he's running deficits as far as the eye can see.

And Chris Matthews had the audicity to say he thought Bush won the election when he said during his convention speech, and during one of the debates, that "you may not always agree with me, but at least you know where I stand."

Bush has dumbed down America, and the media helped him do it.

21. You've put your finger on his most dangerous feature.
He cannot see the whole picture!

He's pulling bricks out of a building without being aware of what he's doing to its structural integrity. His agenda is a list and I don't think he grasps the entire picture.

He treats his job as piece work and follows the wishes of his handlers without a clue to overall effect. He'll destroy this country and never know what he did.

35. He knows the consequences, but not in the way we do
He knows the 'fact' of the consequence, but is incapable of discerning the nuance of it .... the deeper issues .... the actual affect on people.

For example, he knows The War in Iraq© is killing people, but that's about it. He's incapable of intellectualizing what that really means.

He knows his SS 'reform' is a scam to lift our bux from our pockets to the pockets of his cronies. But he doesn't quite 'get' what that means to a widow on a fixed income living in a one room efficiency with two cats and no human food.

So yeah .... he knows the consequences ... but he doesn't, really.

He's the perfect tool. He understands enough to stay on message. But not enough to actually give a flying fuck. Its all a game to him.

36. That's the bottom line
He doesn't actually give a flying fuck. The underachiever rose to the highest office in the land and not by actually winning it and earning the right to be there, but by corrupt means. He knows this and knows or feels very confident that there isn't a damn thing we the people can do about it, which makes him ever more arrogant. I think he is stupid and lazy, corrupt, evil and more. But you're right, he isn't the one who scares me either, that would be greater evil behind the Idiot.

30. I SO hate to agree with you, but the truth of his idiocy is KEY.
I've long said he's a complete idiot, in the face of people insisting, "Don't underestimate him!" "He may not be book-smart, but he's politically shrewd!" "He isn't stupid!"

I'm sorry, he's STUPID.

And it goes beyond what's typically thought of as "stupid" -- it goes all the way to a character flaw, the far end of "Stupid" with a capital "S."

We've all known people with low IQs, or limited life experiences, or limited educations, or low incomes, or "sub-standard" housing (yes, trailers) -- and none of those I've met are STUPID. They've all gone beyond what he is, by struggling with all they could muster-- or else they couldn't have survived.

It takes a truly unique level of sheer STUPIDITY to be born with all the advantages the Chimp had -- money, power, name, influence, etc. -- and still end up a mediocre, untravelled, "intellectually uncurious" idiot. Imagine -- after being bought into the best prep-schools and colleges in the world, after being exposed to world leaders and diplomats, after having very privilege anyone could dream of -- how is it possible that this uneducated, barely-literate idiot is the result?!?

It's obvious he started out with low-level IQ, but it's more than that.

Every basic prep-school boy has at least been to Europe, has at least learned basic manners, has at least read enough to show a sophisticated knowledge of basic history, language, philosophy, etc. even if they aren't bright bulbs as raw material to begin with. And many public high school students gain the same. It takes a special character flaw to end up so completely STUPID after that level of advantage.

Can you name one person born into greater potential for brilliant achivement? Al Gore, John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Wesley Clark, just name them -- all showed the power of their intellect and excellence of their character in the choices they made, very early on, and none had such advantages. This idiot showed himself to be STUPID from the start.

I used to think it was just low IQ, and that he'd been duped. But there's no level of cognitive disability that makes someone that selfishly evil -- people with low IQ can be as loving, or more so, as anyone else. It's about basic character, and in this case, low character combined with low intellect, imo. As H2S has said, he's a willing enabler of his handlers' fascist, neocon plans, in it for his own glorification.

He represents everything I can't abide, and nothing I respect. His commencement speeches ridiculing his own stupidity are an OUTRAGE to academian goals of excellence. He is a greedy, selfish, privileged abuser of power with no hint of character, empathy, compassion, or even basic understanding of how others live.

Yes, he's stupid -- he can't even speak without reading something someone else wrote and/or listening for prompts from his transmitter -- but he's MORE than stupid.

He is STUPIDITY personified.

And let me add: He's getting worse. "That boy ain't right." Something is seriously wrong with him, degeneratively. He was dumb in the 70s, he was dumb in the 80s, he was dumb in the 90s, he was dumb in 2000, but by 2004 he was seriously impaired from something. As I've said many times, the left half of his face is often weak, nearly paralyzed.

Stupid and getting more STUPID all the time.

Why else would they say that so much that it's not really him? It's really him. On Laura Flanders show this past weekend she had an old professor of Bush's on her show.
