Do those regular folks, who'd like to have a beer with bush, know that he has a personal man-servant?

From Jenna's Ex to a Presidential Jeeves
By ELISABETH BUMILLER
Published: May 30, 2005

WASHINGTON

When President Bush shakes 1,000 hands, Blake Gottesman is ready with the Purell. When Mr. Bush is in his daily intelligence briefing in the trailer on his ranch, Mr. Gottesman is on site to dog-sit Barney, the president's Scottish terrier. When a member of the White House senior staff wants a word with the boss, Mr. Gottesman is there to recommend yes or no.

"People will say, 'Is this a good time to raise something?' " said Joe Hagin, the White House deputy chief of staff. "And Blake will say, 'Well, he's reviewing a speech right now,' or 'He's got a couple of members of Congress up in the stateroom on the plane, so it would be better to wait half an hour.' "

Part Sherpa, part butler, part air traffic controller, Mr. Gottesman, 25, is the president's personal aide. It is a job steeped in the minutiae of carrying Mr. Bush's Altoids, Sharpie markers and hand sanitizer, and in the delicacy of handling the check on the rare occasions when the president eats out. Mr. Gottesman also keeps track of the paper flow to the president, logs all his meetings and phone calls, and questions senior aides about grammar and phrasing in Mr. Bush's speech texts.

"He'll say, 'You probably ought to take a look at this word,' " Mr. Hagin said. <more>

3. Oy...
Though I must admit that all presidents probably have a person on staff like this to take care of things. That said...by the looks of the picture, he likes 'em young:).

or clearing brush on the hog farm, or sleeping off another bender, or having another private visit with Guckert.

5. odd
Mr. Gottesman also said on "Ask the White House," in response to a question about what is inside the bag he always carries on his shoulder, that it "just has hair products for me." The line was written in such a deadpan style that it appeared serious - Mr. Gottesman is teased at the White House for his perfect coif and immaculate good looks - but it was an inside joke.

I seem to remember several articles ridiculing John Kerry about this very same thing.

Why is it ok for this moron to have a butler, and not Kerry?

And Barney hates him. Did you see the Barbara Walters interview? They walk outside the WH, and Bush calls for Barney to come here. Barney will not. He completely ignores Bush. I seriously think he kicks that dog when nobody's looking.

p.s - What else has Blake got on his arm there? Some kind of contraption.
