I think I got some god on me while doing it, it was messy - but in the interest of fairness to the muslim world and to defuse the situation we felt that it was only fair to Flush a Bible down the toilet..

Now they can call off the Jihad and no more people have to die (nor does Newsweak need any more White House phony heat) from riots, just from Bush's Major Profit War Machine..

If you are on a PC you can right click on the MP3 link and download it - there's real audio and RSS for Pod folks..

I believe our Radio Master made low res versions for people with slow connections..

3. Love ya Symbolman and understand your point....but

Symbolman, I generally love your work (I still have your original "Army of One" flash animation with the Cranberries/Zombie soundtrack archived on my hard drive) and understand your point here completely. That said, I don't see that abusing the holy book of the Christian religion does anything to defuse the anger over the abuse of the holy book of Islam. Honestly, it just seems like a bad idea to go around abusing the books and symbols of any religion. You won't make those who were previously abused feel better but you'll certainly piss off a new crop of believers who will likely be in no mood to think about the act on a symbolic or intellectual level.

Don't get me wrong here. I'm not saying you don't have a right to do what you did (free speech and all that) but I really don't approve of it or think it was a good idea. The only possible outcome I can see is the angering of a bunch of Christians of greatly varying political stripes where your point gets lost in the anger.

6. Had a thought the other day..

It wasn't the jews or romans who killed Jesus - he lived on after that in millions of hearts,

but he's being killed RIGHT NOW,

by the very people who claim to follow him, yet use his name while they slaughter innocent women and children in Iraq..

And then they disrespect and soil the religion of the people they slaughter, and of course blame it on the MEDIA.

It was the Pentagon who did it, so does that mean that if you have all the guns and tanks and money and troops that you can do anything you want?

Like flush a Holy Book down a toilet?

Is that Might Makes Right, Our God is bigger than your god crap, and if you don't believe me then I will kill you crap?

Well, I take umbrage at that and this is a protest against it, and the only way to apologise to these people.. might even save a life or two if anyone in the middle east that was going to cut off an american head hears that someone in the US flushed a Bible, then they may actually hesitate - you never know, news travels at lightning speed and the world is a lot smaller than it used to be..

and remember, it's a RADIO SHOW. Think about it..

is nothing more then a bunch of paper and glue. It is what is inside of a person that matters and how you treat others. I just hope you used a public toilet. You shouldn't have to flood your own house even if it is for the cause.

BUt if you believe that any media tells you, and a book is media, it becomes a matter of faith..

technically for everyone, ANY book could be a Bible.

It's all about free speech, something I fought for in the military, and the message is more about the War on the Media by the White House..

Watch for a "Decency League" to appear within 6 months to a Year - you won't believe what you will and won't GET to watch, they are gearing up for it right now, little potshots at "Law and Order" and the Alabama Politico who called what Bill Mahr said TREASON - they are going after cable tv now, wonder how long before Jon Stewart is out of a job, and it can happen, a lot has happened since Commander Coo Coo Bananas got installed in the White House.

Listen to the show and find out what rights we're losing even as we speak. Imagine a world where Bush's IMAGE cannot be used for any reason other than an Ordained use.

I appreciate the compliments and this is also my way of apologising to the Muslims who have been tortured by having their holy book literally shat on.

You never know, a stunt like this could actually save a life somewhere in the middle east - it's a small world, but there's plenty of Bibles in it, and a lot of them are Free.

But we won't be Free at this rate - this is a demand for equal treatment when you think about it. It's only a book, and a flag is only a piece of cloth unless you fight for EVERYONE'S rights on both sides of an issue.

Actually, a couple of points...

First, radio used to be referred to as the 'theater of the mind.' I referenced Orson Welles' 'War Of The worlds' to someone on another thread, because what we really did was create the illusion of a bible being flushed.

Second, when the Koran-flushing story came out, a lot of the reaction on the Right was 'It's just a book.' Well, here's their chance to expose themselves as the hypocrites they are - by getting bent out of shape because of a 'bible' being 'flushed' down a 'toilet.'

But it is pretty amazing that someone can get bent out of shape by the concept of a bible being flushed down a toilet.

I've pissed a lot of people over these past few years - like when I made a black 6 foot coffine (when there were only 400 troops dead in Iraq) and when to the center of Times Square in NYC and laid it at the foot of the Enlistment Center, draped a flag over it, added a flower and a headstone that said "ARMY OF ONE" on it..

The Enlistment guy came out and I refused to leave, he called the cops, they didn't care, finally they came and told me to move on, but plenty of people had seen it..

Maybe I should flush an Enlistment Recruiter down the crapper :)

I can imagine some folks in the South getting pretty pissed off about this - we've had death threats before from the freepers just for existing..(I let them know I'm a liberal Veteran with a gun and mentioned the name Kaiser Sose from the Movie "The Usual Suspects") :)

Now the freepers have a thread about Book Burnings, wonder if it's in response to this thread..
