Listening to Bush today on Memorial Day brought to mind a poem
by W.H. Auden:

Epitaph on a Tyrant

"Perfection, of a kind, was what he was after,

And the poetry he invented was easy to understand;

He knew human folly like the back of his hand,

And was greatly interested in armies and fleets;

When he laughed, respectable senators burst with laughter,

And when he cried the little children died in the streets."

The sacrifice of our men and women in the armed services in a war that was started on a pack of lies I hope will lead to Bush's just place in history.

1. I also hope he gets his karmic
retribution. Thanks for the poem; it fits snugly.

2. I watched in a state of
stunned incredulity. Brazen no longer describes these people.

3. What'd you have to drink before you could watch him?
I made sure it was never on MY TV screen!

I really can't stand to watch or listen to him anymore. I used to try to listen because I do believe you should always know your enemy, but my brain just can't take it anymore.

4. Brought to my mind a couplet by Alexander Pope
"Like Cato give his little senate laws
And sit attentive to his own applause."

7. I keep thinking he is going to implode
I look forward to Bush taking his rightful place in history.
I hope is is more widely reviled but for now
I can not watch or listen to this dangerous fool, but thank you for the poem.
