Edited on Sat May-28-05 08:23 AM by DistressedAmerican

I try and try to understand!

I simply have no good answer for either question!

Come on! Explanations? What makes these people tick?

Edited to avoid unintentional copycatism. think I still had mopaul's question in my head when I first wrote it...

What? You don't think they are doing a good job of winning hearts and minds? Establishing "security"?

Pardon me while I phone my buddies at the justice department!

"Hello? Alberto Gonzalez please..."

3. Daddy
This country went through a profound psychological change after 9/11 - * was marketed as protector, tough guy - Daddy.

People voted for him based on emotional reasons - not because he's a good leader. He won't let anyone hurt us!!

"Losing" isn't the problem - winning by cheating and manipulation is.

I work with people like this. They do nothing, break all the rules. But because they kiss the boss ass they get rewarded.

... are below the median in intelligence. This was once taught in high school but has been dropped in favor of the Lake Wobegon Plan.

15. Is that the 50% that didn't vote for anyone?...
...or is it the 50% represented by the electronic voting machines that declared Herr Busch our Fuhrer once again?

9. It's the greatest mystery of our time!
No, but seriously, I think many rethugs have bought into the racist propaganda that muslims are evil and that all they want to do is kill us. Not to mention far too many rethugs are sociopaths who care nothing about anyone but themselves. The rethugs with a conscience are starting to see the light and are leaving the party, but I don't think there are enough of them to make a real difference.

p.s. I like your sheep-it's one of my favorities. :)

13. Look at it this way. . .
Only 60% of eligible voters voted. He allegedly only won by roughly a 3% margin. There is plenty of statistical evidence that suggests that 5-10% of the vote tallies were tampered with.

I know in my "deep blue" state Kerry was polling in the low 70 percent prior to election day. The votes were mostly taken by optical scans. He won my state by winning only 60% of the vote.

It's my firm believe that 10% discrepancy was shifted to * to bolster his popular vote win in many places around the country and to further create the illusion of his mandate and "political capital." It's total bull.

It's also my believe that at best, no more than 20% of the popluation at large really voted for *.

When more people consistantly vote for American Idle than vote for President (yeah I know underage kids can vote and they can vote more than once-but still), there is something seriously wrong with the culture. Most people are simply not paying attention. It's really sad.

Plus the computer voting machines were rigged. The 2000 and 2004 presidential elections were stolen.

He's what that rotten family strives to produce: someone with no empathy, compassion or conscience; a rapacious SOB who thinks he is entitled to have the rest of the world service his needs.

That whole family just aint right.

But as you point out, tens of millions of people voted for him.

25. His is a fantastic SUCCESS story.
Despite an utter lack of any special intellectual gifts, courage or leadership potential, he has triumphed over his repeated failures, and helped to foist an incredibly hard-to-sell corporatist agenda upon working Americans, and an unwinnable war upon the world.

All it took was money.
