"We don't need a free media."
These right-wing nut jobs have lost their freakin minds! I'm sitting here listening to Randi Rhodes show, and this crazy man has called into her show. He tells Randi that "we don't need a free media."

These people make we want to scream and pull my hair out!

1. Not as much as I am screaming right now
Over being called "ghetto" and "echoing of news"

I am going to go pull my hair out now before I smash the keyboard as I cannot afford a new one.

7. Oh, well...
some people didn't think the personal computer would ever "catch on."

Those same people would probably have thought that the printing press was "unwieldy and unnecessary, and put too many monks out of work".

The Internet is the ONLY place to get news -- and indie media sites like yours are in the forefront.

Don't tear your hair out because of a few short-sighted folks.

4. It's pretty hilarious that freepers are listening to and calling Randi.
Maybe they're getting paid?

How much would I have to be paid to listen to Rush... hmmm...

8. What if they made Rush share his Oxycontin stash with you?
If nothing else, that'd make the listening easier...

5. Calm down
That's the point of their fanatic rantings. They want to drive you toward irrational, emotional, un-thinking response. It's just trying to reduce the level of intelligent debate.

9. just had a similar conversation this week with two co-workers
who believe it's quite alright for the media owners to control the news - after all it's THEIR money paying for it!

I looked at the other libs in the group - we just sorta dropped our mouths and realized there's no way to argue with these people. They have no idea what democracy means.

11. Democracy
Why should they care for democracy when Christians want a theocracy so they can kill people willy nilly?

12. But without a free media, how can we release the stranglehold
that the liberals on the networks and at the New York Times have on our news outlets?

Isn't the problem that the media is too liberal and too biased? So, therefore, don't we need a free media?
