Paul Harvey has me a bit confused

His first story was about how personal income increased 7/10th of one percent in April while consumer spending was down 6/10th of a percent and 30 year mortgages were at an all time low at least since last February.

Consumer spending DOWN? That isn't what ABC was told to say last night.

Then he said (~Close quote) ~"Things over in Iraq are going..... they will continue to go as it is now as long as THEY get to pick the weapons. Two of our multi-million dollar helicopters were shot down by rifle fire yesterday"

Hmmm I guess that story about two more Americans dying weren't correct, I'm sure Paul would have mentioned that. Also, I thought some new sort of weapon was being used-rifles are pretty prevalent I would guess maybe we need to take all their guns away_____ as per the "spreading of freedom and democracy goes".

Lastly, Paul said that these trials of American soldiers for killing or mistreating Iraqis and detainees (~"They haven't learned to kill nicely yet") is the reason the military is having such a hard time recruiting.

5. In his own way

Paul Harvey is a more effective propaganda machine for the righties than with Jeff Christie. With Christie the lines are clearly drawn, the hardcore kool-aid drinking repugs lap up every word. But the more "level headed" establishment type of repug listens to Paul everyday. It's kinda like comparing Pat Robertson to the reasonable facade that Jimmy Dobson projects. People listen to Paul Harvey in a similar manner as they did Ronnie, everyone's favorite grandpa.

Let me see now The right to bear arms and own guns -- handguns, rifles, assault rifles, grenades, anything we want -- is fundamental to our Constitution, and restrictions on that that right is a violation of our freedom and anti-American and unconstitutional. But, the Iraqis should not have that right. We need to go in and take away their arms so that we can give them freedom. Yeah, sure. It's Republilogic.
