GWB spoke at Naval Academy graduation --- Applause was very light
Very few interruptions ... this was not what Bush expected.

Anyone else notice this?

2. I noticed that
He paused extra long like he was mystified why the applause wasn't louder.

had the sound down while I was talking on the phone....he must have told or made a joke at one point becasue there was the classic smirk and pause ....he was apparently proud of himself....I couldn't stand even that...Kelly Cass on the Weather Channel was much more soothing.....

5. Naval Academy produces most of the smarter military minds.
Naval jet pilot cousin (Lieut) said most of his crew mates voted Kerry and he got the sense that most of their higher ups did, too.

6. Kerry was in the Navy
Maybe thats why the voted for him?

Saying Navy personnel are smarter than say Air Force personnel is stupid.

I had one Uncle in the Navy, one in the Air Force.

One grandpa served in the Army WWII

Another served Navy then Marines.

12. I didn't say that Navy personnel were smarter than others.
I said the Naval Academy produces most of the smarter military minds....as in the higher ups at the Pentagon.

Not a slam at other services, especially with a grandfather who commanded an Air Force base and three Army brothers, Corp,Sgt and Capt. and a Marine brother.

7. Yeah, * didn't look too happy after he was finished - was NOT smiling
I'd say the crowd response was quite tepid. NOT what one would expect from a graduation audience, especially a military academy having a President deliver the commencement address! After he sat down Shrub was POUTING, smiling only briefly & faintly when the person sitting next to him said something to him.
Guess this is what happens when he can't have his audience screened!

9. Maybe
those kids were contemplating the dead and maimed people in the armed forces and wondering where they will be next year.

10. What else would you expect from educated young folks
who are about to serve their country on active military duty? I mean their commander in chief is a Vietnam dodging, AWOL, phony tough guy, after all.
