3. Maybe as a favor to Bloomberg? Andy Card called State Senate
Edited on Fri May-27-05 08:35 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
Majority leader, Joseph Bruno, to ask him to vote for it.

On edit: Bloomberg has been using up a lot of his political capital to get this through.

Or this might be why???? From the above article:

"Seven years from now, Ground Zero will take shape and will look spectacular. To have a moment to celebrate that would be fantastic," said Roland Betts, a close friend of Bush and his point man on the city's Olympic bid committee.

"The White House is very aware of that," said Betts, who has known Bush since their days together at Yale University.

7. 2012 Olympics.
The IOC has said that unless the stadium is moving forward, NYC can forget about hosting the 2012 summer games.

As a NYC metro area resident (I live in Westchester), the LAST thing I would want is for the olympics to be held in NYC. Paris is much more deserving, IMHO.

(Lance Armstrong thinks so too.)

17. It's just a Family Tradition
Okay, I was going to post a chorus from Hank Jr's "Family Tradition" (Hank why do you drink/Why do you roll smoke/Why must you live out the songs that you wrote) with pictures of Nazi rallies after every line...too much work for this time of night, but it might make a fun TBTM flash.

Look, he's got to have someplace to hold his Nuremberg Rallies.

Just like the old days, Ceasar Bush opens the victory games in honor of Master Moon by having the entire subscription of Democratic Underground fed to the Lions.
