WE ARE A SOAP OPERA, AND CITIZENS OF FREEPERVILLE ARE ADDICTED!
Admit it… we put on a good show, and they can’t seem to get enough.

They know our names, our SO's names, our frikin PETS names! Reading Will Pitts post
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3736187
about them trashing his blog made me curious to see what the freepers were saying, and boy howdy! Are they pleased with them selves!

It was like listening to the old Aunties watching soaps when I was a kid. The freepers now have the internets, and have elevated that addiction to the next level.
It is an addiction... the Auntie's had their soaps, and the freepers have DU. If an Auntie was in the house, her soaps were on (and god forbid the child that didn't wait for commercial!). Then of course we were instructed on the evils of the world as just shown to us by those evil tarts on TV. Never-mind that the Aunties could cuss like truck drivers and drank their daily caloric intake. Poor old dears had turned quite bitter by the mid 70’s.

Anyway… over at freeperville…

Sexfpat is particularly popular!

franksolich's sig line is > (sometimes feels as if married to DUmmiette "sfexpat2000")

*I think he has a crush*

One has a graph that shows FR has more traffic than DU.
It points to a link where we too can get software to hijack browsers to redirect to DU! Yea! We’ll fix you freepers by fixing the books! Oh wait, it doesn’t work that way around here. J

The problem is, DUmmies have not the high level of class, the wit, the style, the imagination, the culture, of members of Free Republic, and are easily detected.

Like a bad actor in a challenging role.

*See! AND they think they have a better Cast than us! *

I beg to differ :)

BRB… after a long shower. Blechh!

At least now I know I'm not the only one who confuses her name that way...

2. My opinion is...cute, but they're non-entities.
Today was a whooo-rah for the dems! I think today is the day that, unlike the 'compromise' vote, we all agree it was good. What more can you ask for? I felt really fine!

4. One of our members asked me to venture over to one of these sites
They call us all kinds of names, even have a forum dedicated to us(slightly freakish, but yeah whatever).
Some have even adopted names of our own (They have a Skinner).
Personally, I think it is all one big penis envy party.:)

My questions is...if they can call us DUmmies, why can't we call them CUmmies?:silly:

Oh well--I guess I will go over there in a day or two and read my post and see a couple of bubbas with microscopic dicks fall all over themselves denigrating it--but, I will take that as a compliment that they hang on to every word...and in the dark of night, when no other freepers are around...they wish they were just like us!

13. I would join you in your little excursion but I'm off on another trans
continental spending spree with beautiful people who stay at my luxurious Manhattan and Nob Hill apartments when they cross the Pond. I just hope I don't miss the whole damn party.

5. well it's not like they have thier own lives
as liberals, we should consider it a public service to provide some meaning to the pathetic lives of these people. Without hate and ignorance, they wouldn't have anything else.

and if they don't already know my cat's names..it's Persephone and Hera.

6. Then There's Things That Make You Go "Huh?"
This came up in a google search, so I put my rubber gloves on and
went in.
It's a thread about MBNA. The freepers don't like them either.
Some of them correctly identified the bankruptcy bill as a
giveaway to MBNA and their ilk. Imagine that! And the posts
are still there. Can they even be pissing off the freepers?

7. I think they freep themselves.
No way are people signing up and hitting on that site at the rates those numbers suggest. There just isn't that much content there worth reading. Given how this country is tracking away from Bush/Republicans, I don't see that the opposition is reading them at a rate that supports those numbers.

It wouldn't surprise me to find that they have a 1/2 dozen PC's programmed to "hit" FR 24/7. They're dishonest about everything else, why would they be honest about their popularity?

8. You are very likely correct.
Consider the shit they ADMIT to, then extrapolate the stuff they keep quiet about.

Their entire base could well be 50 losers posting 18 hours a day under 100 usernames each.

They MOST DEFINITELY have a few "old hats" who post under multiple names for hours at a time, EVERY DAY.

17. LOL....
They have to be taught to use words with no more than 2 syllables and 5 words or less per sentence. Of course, every other word will need to be 'hate', 'DUmmies', or ZOD. So they won't need to spend a lot of time with learning the nuances of our language.

Fact is, they could bypass India entirely, get a VIC-20, and write a 30 line FAI(Freeper Artificial Intelligence) Program in BASIC. We'd be hardpressed to see a qualitative change in the dialogue.

11. If they're using Alexa rankings, then
they are measuring their ranking within the population of people stupid enough to want tracking software on their computer or too naive to avoid it. They're apparently quite well represented among that demographic.

Boasting about their rankings on that site is pretty much like boasting about the size of their membership in an idiots club. No offense to the truly handicapped, or comparison; these sub-par primates are the deliberately self-lobotomized. See: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/spyware.alexa.html

12. I'll bet they aren't reading the Alexa ratings correctly..
Edited on Fri May-27-05 01:13 AM by larissa
I remember them being posted ALLLLL the time when it was the big battle of the Clark vs. Dean websites! Then, when everything moved over to the Kerry site.. they posted them regularly.

I haven't been to the Alexa site since then, but I remember that lower numbers meant heavier traffic or something like that.. Maybe ConsAreLiars can explain how the Alexa charts work? :7

16. In this case, they are reading the graph it properly.
I just don't believe the data. 200,000 users? Either the whole movement is consolidating on the FR or the numbers are phoney. I think it's the latter.

But let them delude themselves. They've been lying about reality for so long, they can't tell the difference anymore.

It only records Alexa Toolbar users. There's a puff piece about this nifty "service" at: http://www.the-home-grown-biz-advocate.com/12in13.htm

Despite it's sycophantic posture, it describes the ranking process quite fully. The suckers have each site they visit recorded and each page as well.

"But, the most important aspect of installing the toolbar is not that you can view the ranking of a site easy, but that when you install the Alexa toolbar every site you visit is monitored by Alexa and recorded."

...

"Alexa calls the counting of each visit “reach” and the counting of page visits “page views.” Every day Alexa takes these two figures, and the figures from the last three months and calculates the traffic rank for each web site by applying a geometric mean (i.e., math) calculation to them. From these calculations Alexa ranks sites.

"The ranking is from the number one site (ranking one) to as many sites as there are. The lower the Alexa ranking number the more heavily visited the site."

(edit to add the link)

That software really bloats the Registry....no doubt their freeping on browsers installed with it, though.

24. Why they like Spyware so much is a mystery until you think about it.
By being in a database their whole quasi-life is given meaning. They can chime in with Jesse and say "I am somebody." No doubt they are looking forward to ID implants and constant monitoring of their every act for the same reasons.

They don't take any of our ideas or policies seriously. All they do is ridicule us for our beliefs and they have no respect for our opinions. It makes me wonder what they'll do next. :scared:

the same sap would post daily photos of bush at various photo ops looking like an ape on meth in a suit. they post these in some sort of sense of pride i guess. pathetic.

but i don't go there anymore, it's too creepy, and i already know what they have to say, they have about 10 talking points with millions of variations.
