3. They have always taken two weeks around holidays.
This time it's Memorial Day. Since they don't have a hiatus period like other shows, they take a lot of two week vacations instead.

5. They do it all the time
Most of time, they do 4 to 6 weeks straight, then take a week or two off, then a few more weeks etc.

Helps keep the comedy (and the writers) fresh. Sometimes, they will come back mid week, but not always.

7. Yeah - it happens all year long. Remember they go on all year. Not
alot of time to regroup for such a brilliantly written show. Remember Sex & the City only did a little more than half a dozen shows a year.

Really is quite something when you think about it. They need breaks. Just so long as they don't get tired and quit.

9. And, lest we forget, it's still just a 'basic cable' channel...no big $$$
Given how little money (relatively) Comedy Central makes, I'm pretty amazed at how many DailyShow episodes they make.

Compared to their other original programs, which seem to produce six to eight hours of content per YEAR, DailyShow looks like a workaholic on crack!

Thanks folks. I guess my addiction will be better serviced by a couple of weeks for the writers to get their shit tight. Know what I mean?

13. I love the Daily Show....
but writing for that show is easy! All they have to do is report the weird shit going on in this country, and it's hilarious!

Seriously... Jon is a natural treasure. Why hasn't HBO or whoever offered big bucks to move the show?

14. They beter be back next week!!
I'm going NUTS!!!....I want to hear insults on the media and the Republicans from them. In my mind there has been many many things that could have used some Daily Show witty jokes on that has happened over the last two weeks...and their vacation is starting to piss me off!!:argh:
