OMG! CBS News just said "Iraq is tilting toward a civil war."
The MSM finally reports the truth.

The anchor (Shieffer?) said it a 5:37 p.m. central. Saw & heard it myself, or I wouldn't believe it.

Gotta wonder if Rove's addressing their next anthrax envelope right this minute.

10. I don't think that's what the poster did.
I've known this would result in a Civil War because I know the region and listen to the REAL people who come from that area (not the Chalabi's of the world).
Maybe the poster was stating that he, also, knew that the Iraq would probably end up in a civil war since before the Iraqi War started (as I did) and he's cursing the corporate media for JUST NOW reporting something that should have been explored in 2002.
Just a thought.

34. Like when Elizabeth Dole showed a pic of a school
last year to prove that we were progressing nicely? It looked great on the outside but later a reporter went inside and took pictures. It was completely gutted and full of trash. I haven't seen Dole do that again. And I wonder if she knew the truth.

8. As cutting edge as the networks are . . .
That means we've been in civil war mode for anywhere from four to six weeks. I wonder if they're going to start prattling on about the January 30 elections again and how the Sunnis and Shiites are all but ready to join hands and sing Kumbaya?

Personally, I think they've been at near civil war since the first meeting after the "election" in January.

There's been about three car bombs a week for three months now. If that's not a civil war, what is?

19. ...
A civil war is a war in which the competing parties are segments of the same country or empire. Civil war is usually a high intensity stage in an unresolved political struggle for national control of state power. As in any war, the conflict may be over other matters such as religion, ethnicity, or distribution of wealth. Some civil wars are also categorized as revolutions when major societal restructuring is a possible outcome of the conflict.

An insurgency, whether successful or not, is likely to be classified as a civil war by history if and only if organised armies fight conventional battles.

20. al Sadr is reaching out to the Sunnis
and asking them to join his movement to expell the U.S. Occupation. If he can gain major alliance in this effort a Civil War could be avoided and the U.S. Occupation could be in serious trouble. Now if al Sistani made a similar move this may consolidate the anti-U.S. drive in Iraq.

Pity the Iraqis. Pity them, pity them, for there is no mercy and no solace for them in this world. Cursed from birth to death. No peace to be found in Iraq. Always there will be the megalomaniacs, the power-hungry, to drive their destiny to the ground.

With Iraq going up in flames this will spread (just like we said it would) spilling over to Turkey and Iran (just like we said it would).
Then bringing in other allies starting WWIV (just like we said it would).
