1. Seriously?
Wow. How many? Do you know? Things are looking like they are changing. I wish they'd do impeachment hearings.... Oh and cute pics of the kids.

7. The same thing happened in Florida this year
The State House seemed to care less about anything that Jeb wanted.

10. Yep
They have to worry about themselves. Does anybody know the public opinion of stem cell research? Any recent polls on this?

6. Does Bush actually veto bills?
I can't recall a single one that he has vetoed since he walked into the Oval Office and tracked cowshit on the rug.

There's been a lot of threats to veto, but in the end * has always gotten his way, so he's never had to stand up for his principles and suffer the consequences.

Given the broad support for stem cell research, it'll be interesting if the Congress has the balls to do what's right for the public and not for Bush's fundie base.

11. It would be interesting
and if he does veto this would be the first one he's ever done as far as I know. I wonder how people will react towards that.

5. Again, I tried to tell everyone this to begin with.
The republicans likely will NOT all lock-step in line with Bush's nominations, in fact quite a few of them will vote against it. I'm betting some of them will NOT be confirmed, so this is not at all an overall loss for everyone.

They are against Senator Frist. Read this loud and clear, the only ones on Frist's side now are the radicals and the Senate is growing enough spine to do something about the crisis on this illegal war.

For instance, http://www.downingstreetmemo.com will face a full investigation.

In fact, the way some members are dissenting it wouldn't be a stretch if Bush etc. were brought up for impeachment. It won't happen yet, but its clear the entire war was illegal and its not going away.

12. I hope you're right
I hope so and I hope we can get pressure on Congress and the Senate to investigate the memo. Last I read there were four memo's?! Does anybody know about that? Maybe things are changing in the Senate?? I do wonder though. Some part of me thinks they have a plan to bring back the fundie/freeper base for 2006 and 2008 and that worries me. Then something like this pops up and I'm just confused.
