I love listening to this man! I'm not too thrilled with his "deal" last night, but I respect him so much!

on edit: How's the new baby doing??? Well, I hope? :)

4. Referencing the Canterbury Tales now...
He prefaced this with "...The Canterbury Tales, which I am sure we are all familiar with..." BWAHAHA, I'm sure that there was a huge :wtf: on the Repuke side of the aisle.

Wonder where he'll take this...

8. Ah, maybe I get it...
Instead of "dividing the gold among three", he can keep it for himself and he is poisoning the others..."the young villain"....the older villains just buried their daggers in the younger...they are opening the poisoned wine and drinking it...suffering an excruciating death, falling dead on a pile of gold.

Their avarice and greed and love for material things had destroyed them. There is a lesson, says Byrd.

The strong temptation for political partisanship can tear the Senate and nation apart so that we all bleed and are destroyed. The President, the Senate and the people...he applauds the fact that the center held and stood together against mean-spirited shallow political ends. Wow! He is something....bet Frist is pissed off...."perhaps we can salvage some trust from the American people." What a man....

9. Byrd says Thank God for 14 Senators
who kept the faith with the Framers...so that our prosperity can enjoy the blessings of peace. He said it was about to be destroyed in a single day. If words could only get through to some of the idiots on the floor of the Senate.

10. This man is a national treasure

Maybe he is an acquired taste in this fast age, but I just adore him. I learn something everytime the greatly esteemed Senator from West Virgina speaks on the floor. Bless him.

but agree with all the posts. I am grateful for the fact that I was born at a time when he is still on this earth.
