Another 'Threatening’ T-shirt barred from Bush Forum
A University of Arizona student says he was told he was a potential threat and was barred from President Bush's forum yesterday because of the T-shirt he was wearing.

Steven Gerner, 19, said an event staff member told him that, although he had a valid ticket from Tucson congressman Raúl Grijalva's office, he could not enter the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave.
Gerner said he and three other Young Democrats were waiting to see Bush speak yesterday morning when his ticket was confiscated.

"The other people in my group were not wearing T-shirts," he said. "One person was wearing a button, but apparently T-shirts are more threatening than buttons."

2. This has grown so commonplace...
...I'm not even shocked anymore. You can't see your President unless you are a Republican.

Makes me look at Britain and think about those clips I saw of their town hall meetings on the daily show where poeple like this guy Steve were let into their broadcast town halls and they lit into Blair.

Not here though. What does that say about the U.S.? About the Republicans? About our cowardly President?

4. And Blair has to submit to a daily question period....
in Parliament. But why would you even want to go to these staged events. They are so beyond bogus and I wouldn't want to sit amongst the sheeple.

8. Good Point
Why would a young democrat wearing t-shirt go to one of those events. Does anyone honestly believe he intended to give Bush a fair shot?

Still. That's not the real point. The real point is that he had a ticket, he's a U.S. Citizen, and they barred him entry based on his political party. That sounds an awfull lot like repression.

Lettting him in, but ejecting him if he disrupts the event. Hey that's freedom baby. I have no problem with them ejecting someone who disrtupts their events. That's only fair.

But to not let him in because he's a democrat? That's scary because if they exclude a democrat from one thing, why wouldn't they do it to another.

Everyone who voted REpublican gets a tax cut...

3. My president is such a coward!
If he considers that threatening, he must be a real "scaridy-cat."

I mean seriously, be a man George. Toughen up. We are in a wars afterall.

7. Is the Republican Party and Bush so weak that their only means of defense
to censor expression and rewrite news? Obviously this means they are, as repeated examples have shown. I'm just getting a bit concerned that there aren't more protests about this kind of action. We could wait until we start saying things like "doubleplusgood" and "rectify" photos in PhotoShop...oh wait. We are.
