So if you write an appreciative note to your (rethug) Senator/Rep...

...when they've actually done something worthy of encouragement, is it wise to say "I'm a Democrat but I'm proud of the stand you took" - or is it better to leave the "I'm a Democrat" out? In other words, would encouragement from someone on the "other side" carry more weight, or less? Do they care about how they're seen by their Dem constituents? They might assume in the next election we're not going to vote for them anyway - or they might have hopes of getting crossover votes. Opinions?

2. It actually DOES carry some weight.

Calls from the expected just get filed and never really discussed at all in Congressional offices. But when you get one praising you from the other side... shit, that gets talked about all day.
