Lindsey Graham is playing to his base this morning...
because no one was under more pressure than he in the "gang of 14". He will be stoned when he goes back home to SC...So this morning, he preaching on the virtues of the three nominees that were granted cloture by the agreement. This will be the most interesting Senator to watch to see if he backs down. He is preaching to his choir right now.

1. He is also preaching something very bothering
that if Democrats want to filibuster another judge and the Republicans disagree, the nuclear option is back.

2. Yep and he retains the right to "alone decide if it is for the right of
the country to filibuster or not"?
What the hell is that about?

3. He also said
he reserved the right to vote for the nuclear option if any of the 5 (which 5, I missed) voted for the filibuster. "that's only fair". The repukes are doing nothing but threatening to use the nuclear option if the Dems use the filibuster. This is too funny.

5. They're trying to calm down their right-wing supporters...
who are pissed off to the max. But, these 7 Repubs would not at this moment vote for the "nuclear" option. So, it has been shelved for the time being. That is the reality.

6. For the time being.
THAT is the sticky issue. 2006, 110th Congress, they can do anything they want. We're safe today, but that black cloud still floats over our heads until next year.

8. True..
It is temporary but this is a serious blow to the Repub facade of invincibility. It does not take a lot to divide this bunch. We should take advantage of the moment. Seize the day!

9. He was savaged this morning on talk radio
our local swine(rus&lisa) were foaming at the mouth, cursing Lindsey and the repug party in general. Rus, the pretend libertarian/for real fascist for whom the repugs are never hard core enough, was acting like it was the end of the world. Three callers all declared that they'd vote Democrat(!) before they voted for Graham again.

The assholes win and it's not good enough. They will never be satiated, even if all that they despise were eliminated. Then they will fall upon themselves in the grand Christian tradition.
