I think I read the other day there are 160 vacancies in the federal judiciary. They die, they retire, or Congress creates new judgeships.

It's an ongoing issue.

But still, I think it's a victory for us, if only because it leaves Frist with egg on his face, and power in the center of the Senate political spectrum.

Although the Senate can always change its rules, I think you saw here the hesitancy to mess with 215 years of history. Even Lindsay Graham opted for the long view. I didn't think he had it in him.
