1. Feel the Joementum
as he picks up speed on his tragectory into the septic tank. What a weenie -- and another frikkin Connecticut preppy, just like George W. Bush.

Lay off the nutmeg, you folks from olde Quin-te-neh-ti-qut.

2. You got that right
The two nominees who ostensibly got tossed will be back.

And this whole thing is nothing but lubricating the Democrats for when Fuckface nominates Assface Scalia to be Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

I am sick to death of Democrats in the Senate.

4. If Lieberman is involved it's never good for us.
Remember when Joementum debated Cheney and acted like he was doing a job interview for Halliburton?

5. I have no idea why he fashions himself a Democrat
Remember Lowell Weicker? He was the man Leiberman unseated by selling his soul to the right-wing Republicans who found Weicker far too liberal - which he was.

I'd give anything to have Weicker back. He was great, but, instead we have The Whore Lieberman.

6. I am furious today. And there are Dems who say
we "won"! What did we "win" I wonder? I thought the whole point was to protect the Scotus from these appointees, not to put them in place for promotion. I am about to give up.

7. Who cares if Scalia becomes chief justice?
It's just an honorary title, he doesn't get to set the agenda or have two votes. The fight is over the replacement for Rehnquist. Thank god Ginsberg appears to have recovered. She can stick it out three more years.

We have the opportunity to name two or three justices if we take the white house in 08, so I almost would have put up with losing the filibuster battle. This deal was a slap in the face to Frist and his fundie disciples are going to make him pay. He is now off the table as a legit presidential candidate, which in a way, is a shame. I would have divorced myself from the Dems to run a campaign to run ads showing him skulking around ASPCA kennels, saying, OH WHAT A PRETTY KITTY, I'll take him home, then show graphic footage of someone dissecting the same cat. Over and over and over and over.

10. Huh?
Look at the ages of the current Justices.

Understand that Scalia becoming C.J. is a bit more than "honorary title," and then consider that his moving into the C.J. job means a seat on the Court has opened - one that will be filled by Ratface Squatter In The White House.

Look at the ages of the current Justices.

You cannot be that cavalier with something this important. As for our taking the White House in three years, I sure as hell wouldn't bet anything I loved - including my country - on THAT happening.

This compromise is disastrous for America.

3. Lieberman makes me physically ill
He looks creepy and he sounds creepy.

I really like Al Gore -- but I will always question his choice of Lieberman as a VP running mate.

Hopefully Lieberman can be forced out of office by a real democrat.

8. The night Gore announced lieberman
I literally fell off the chair and started screaming. I worked for a REPUBLICAN against that creep. He INVENTED the "too liberal" meme with his Lowell Weicker is Too Liberal For Connecticut. I've despised that asshole ever since.

9. It is crazy, We give up and we declare victory?
I cant understand why so many other threads are happy and declare victory when we just gave the right to have a successful filibuster except if the nominee is a criminal ( or has a lifestyle the Republicans do not approve, I imagine).
