Have the moderate repubs developed some cajones?
They have gone against shrub, Frist, the religious right. Have they finally woke up and realized THEY were as threatened as Dems are? Or am I just hoping. I'm thinking they might go a step further and vote down the nominees put forth by the Dobson machine.

1. If they did, they didn't get them from the eunuched "moderate" Dems.
Who smilingly declared "victory" by seating three rightwing judges without a fight.

4. Ah, but they may fight along with the moderates
when the nominees get their vote.

5. Lindsey graham is hinting that Mod Repugs will not vote YES on those
so how do you know they weren't smiling because they know which ones aren't going to survive an "Up and Down" vote?

6. My point exactly.
If they get an up or down vote, will they be confirmed. We seem to ssume they will, but I think the Christian right has scared enough people that it isn't a given.

2. Compromise was a way out
in my opinion.....

they were caught between pissing off the people at home or pissing off the pResident....eith way would have disasterous consequences..

they flat out didn't want to have to vote for or against the nuclear option....

they needed a way out....

that's what I think happened here....

3. I'm watching Lindsey Graham on Tweety
Here's my (pessimistic) take. Graham is talking big about voting against nominees now, but will have a "crisis of conscience" and will vote FOR the fascist five.

And we'll have it stuck up our ass again.

7. 2006 is just around the corner
It's all about "ME" now and not Bush anymore. They have to be reading the polls even if our Great Leader doesn't. Bush has lowest ratings ever, Iraq war bad, bad, bad, No Private Accounts, etc.
