Both sides say they averted a disaster and the DISASTER in question was the nuke option.

I agree that they will never be able to pull that trigger again. If they do, the Republican 7 will not go for it. Frist now *knows* that there isn't a majority in the Senate for blatant, illegal power grabs. That's very good.

Unfortunately, the Repugs will probably win all their radical judge nominations. That's not good!

But Bush doesn't yet have the ability to rule by decree, so maybe this is somewhat of a win for the Dems.

All they have to do is say that the Dems are abusing the agreement anytime they use it. Which the "moderates" won't use anyway as shown by their "agreement" to let 3 rightwingers in without a fight.

8. I don't think so.....When Frist spoke, he said the nuclear option
is still an option for him to use if the dems abuse the fillabuster again. So why is that a good deal?
