4. Oh yes.
I can't wait to see Frist spin this 'dissing' by his own party members.

5. The fundies may hate McCain, but behold, the man is crafty.
If McCain becomes the nominee (still a long ways off, but slightly more possible after today), the fundies can like it or lump it.

If they lump it and try to run one of their own, they will get crushed like a potato chip.

An excellent scenario.

6. Wrong. Presidential hopes of both men were crushed today!
Edited on Mon May-23-05 07:28 PM by tritsofme
Any chance that McCain had of winning Republican nomination was crushed today, the Right will seek retribution and McCain will never be any more than the senior senator from Arizona.

Frist's Presidential aspirations were also quashed today, because the only thing he brought to the table on his behalf would have been going nuclear on the Dems, now he can't put that on his resume, and he will probably not even run for President.

McCain will run and lose the primary.

7. Possibly. But remember, McCain crushed Dubya in New Hampshire --
-- in 2000 and was only taken out because Rove smeared him.

What if Rove backed him this time?

Or someone else with clout? The fundies can mess up a few primaries but they can't defeat a unified, party-backed candidate, and thus cannot ultimately determine a nominee.

McCain shot into the lead this evening over THE CAT BUTCHER, and the pathetic fundie nutcases Allen and Brownback.
