They are really spinning this
Just heard them say that only 67%(?) of *'s appellate nominees were approved?
What about the overall 94% of judges approved?

4. Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics
They can claim anything they want to as long as they don't explain what their numbers actually mean.

5. That is correct, here ya go!
Edited on Mon May-23-05 05:47 PM by nytemare
204 of 214 federal judges were approved
35 of 52 appellate judges were approved under Bush

Under Clinton's second term
35 of 51 appellate judges were confirmed...very similar numbers.

Here is a good Media Matters article on the spinning!

9. LOL, what happened?
My post surely wasn't pro-publican. :)

I love they way they try to say how the Dems aren't allowing the judges to pass, and the numbers were almost EXACTLY the same for Clinton. They never bring up that..lol.

:)

I deleted my own post because I misread your post so my post didn't make any friggin' sense. :7 :hi:

11. I do that sometimes, too!
I can see how my subject line alone could mess you up, though.

6. That's the percentage of Appellate Court justices
that have been approved. 94% covers all judges. One of the senators was talking about how the Appellate Court justices are more critical than the others, as they are directly under the Supreme Court.

8. they don't like that 97% statistic
so the spinners have moved heaven and earth to pry a better one (for them) out of the situation.

So let's see--using their tactic, the PUkkkes prevented 100% of Bill Clinton's apellate court nominees from getting an up or down vote!

They must be desperate to use rhetoric that can be so easily turned against them (not that any of the Dems will do that!)
