If you want to see what a real legislative body looks like:
Turn on CSPAN now. British Parliament is on right now.

Why doesn't' our congress do this? Instead, we get canned speeches in front of an empty chamber while all the real decisions are made in obscure meetings.

2. Actually
isn't a king an unelected leader, serving through the assumed anointing of God?

4. England is run by a Parliament, not a King.
The Monarchy is artificially kept alive for to English tradition and tourism. You do know this, right?

5. Yes, I do
I was trying in my inept way to point up the similarities between shrub and a real monarch.

3. I love watching them
It's great to watch! I love it. I've also watched a few debate's as well that I think is in their Hall of Commons? I'm not sure where it's at but it's people arguing back and forth and stuff. I love it.

8. We have a similar setup in Canada
in the House of Commons. Sorta like the British Parliament, but with a two drink minimum. <heee, I never tire of that joke>.

Seriously, we have Question Period twice a week when Parliament is sitting. It really is a hoot to watch. Those boys and girls are sure nimble on their feet!
