Oil Storm - this FX movie has me feeling sick to my stomach
While watching TV last night I saw a trailer for this movie on FX called Oil Storm. It really freaked me out. Being the confirmed paranoid that I've become, my instant reaction was that the BFEE was doing this to support a war on Iran. Am I wrong?

Here's the link to the FX site... click on "View Promo" for Oil Storm.

3. So Murdoch is using the coming future to get short term ratings now?
Make money off more ads in June, scare the people to probably support BushCo more, and keep us going on the road to our next oil crisis.

I have seen this ad a few times on FX already.

4. If we could just drill straight through the core and take what is
rightfully ours.... all of this war stuff might just melt away into the night....

9. The comedian Gallagher used to say. . .
"Why don't we just drill through the center of the Earth and suck that oil out from underneath 'em. Just 'cause they're closer to it doesn't mean they own it!"

12. Actually, we can use up what we have
and God will magically replace it just like he did that mana in the desert. This is according to that one thread in the past week or so on the "born-again" theory of replenishing the oil supply.

5. Although we all know this is probably what is really happening
I have been wondering when the WH would start to use this in their favor. Suddenly America is ready to hear the truth about Peak Oil from Fox and we're all supposed to believe that George Bush was acting in our interests by killing Iraqi's to keep our Humvee's going?

6. Were you watching the race too?

I noticed the ad and felt the same way. This is a huge piece of WH generated propaganda! Make us fear those moslems and how dare they keep their oil from us!

10. Yup, or at least a taped version of the race.....
I can't stand watching commercials, so we usually tape races and watch them later. Caught a glimpse of the Oil Storm commercial and made hubby rewind the tape.

At first, I thought, "Great! Someone is finally calling attention to the peak oil crisis." Then I remembered I was watching a Murdoch network. Not good, peeps! Not good at all.

11. What disgusts me is that we are moving TOO SLOW on alternatives.
It's fucking ridiculous, and Al Gore and others saw this years ago.

We have to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and the best way to do that is to invest, gasp, money into research, etc.

I truly believe that would have been the cornerstone of an Alby Gore presidency. I think he would have let loose with a JFK moon-like statement.

But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The dummies in this country.... :eyes:
