I haven't seen one since the mid-80s.

Any ideas as to where they went?

Were they finally able to craft laws to keep them out that passed Constitutional muster?

2. I Remember Being In Washington DC On July the 4th
of 1998. I was a little puzzled at my 11 year old age. I guess Alabama leads you into a sheltered life I guess

5. Well, not for ten years anyway, but I've seen then in other areas...
...like city main streets. But, they do not seem as visible as I guess they once were.

7. The have a temple not far from where I live
They run a radio station and have Indian festivals to support themselves. What do I think of them? They came to Utah County, home of BYU and perhaps the most conservative area in the nation and built a Krishna Temple, balls I say, balls as big as coconuts. They are cool people.

10. There's one here in WV too.

It was scandal wracked and the main guru went to jail and deserved it. Sent a bunch of people out begging all the time. Broke with ISKON.
I think that ISKON has taken the temple back over and they are a lot more householder devotees and the community is more self supporting. They do tours, farm some and have a cow rescue program. Here's their website:

www.newvrindaban.com

And

www.palaceofgold.com

Unbelievably ornate! Jim

9. I saw one at ORD last summer.
Of course, I worked there, so that might have had something to do with it.;)
