If SO many people agree with the reich-wing, then WHY
Edited on Thu May-19-05 08:09 PM by Bouncy Ball
has FUX's viewership declined by

58%

since October of 2004?

It's down to pathetic levels, less than half a million in the coveted 25 to 53 year old age range.

If SO many people agree with the reich-wing, why are Littledick's approval ratings in the toilet?

If SO many tons of people agree with the reich-wing so vehemently, why aren't right-wing websites just OVERRUN with people posting there?

Why don't reich-wing books sell better than they do?

Why do I see reich-wing documentaries in the bargain bargain bargain "we'll pay you to take them" bin at the local video store?

Why aren't I, here in Texas, just SURROUNDED by bush stickers and shirts? I'm always amazed by how few stickers I see and shirts? Forget about it. Nothing beyond a "W" sticker every now and then. And I saw one the other day that the owner had apparently tried to scrape off, only bits here and there remained.

The repuke party would have me believe that some HUGE super-majority of Americans agree with them. If that's true, why haven't they motivated all those millions of Americans who aren't even REGISTERED to vote? Why do they still sit home on election day and say "who gives a shit?" or "it's what day?"

I think they are full of shit. VERY very full of shit. Most Americans don't agree with them. Most Americans, sadly, don't even pay any attention to politics. Out of the rest, a large portion think the repukes are off their nut.

So where does that leave them? Deluded. As usual. Carry on.

4. One explanation is...
that Faux is politics-heavy and people are burnt-out on politics. I can appreciate that, as I am fighting through that.

The other reason is that they suck. Just flat suck, and people are waking up. They feel the alien anal probe, and they do not like it.

could call enough DINO's to get their radical agenda passed.

6. ...

EXACTLY!! THANK YOU!!!

I mean if SO many fucking people so COMPLETELY agreed with these assholes, WHY would they need to do this?

If they knew how to WORK with the other party and see them as opponents and sometimes partners instead of mortal enemies WHY would they need to do this?

Answer: they wouldn't. End of story.

7. There are still many Kerry Edwards signs in our neighborhood here
We had to take ours down to sell the house, but we secretly suspect that the Kerry Edwards sign would have been a sales plus in North Portland.

I go home to Virginia and I am amazed at the number of Kerry Edwards bumper stickers I see (now this is in Tidewater and not Northern liberal Virginia)relative to the Bush stickers.

I suspect that those who did vote for Bush are ashamed at their craven attempt to not contribute their fair share (of taxes, work, sons and daughters to the military, etc.).

Then, there is always the most obvious reason--the little Bush bastard didn't win after all. Duh!

29. My car was covered in stickers
and in the back seat I still had the large ACT "Vote Early" sign that I held up each morning on the entrance to the Morrison Bridge...until the car was stolen about 4 weeks ago today!

The police say most cars stolen in Portland are returned within 90 days. But mine was a 1987 Toyota with only 60,000 miles ... in perfect condition. I fear that it may have found itself in a chop shop!

9. It was mentioned in another post..
That Fox seems to be getting even more partisan(didnt think that was possible) and maybe its bad enough now for the casual, not too quick,Fox viewer to finally catch on.Also reflected in chimpie's ratings.

10. I have always figured that the Republicans are given...
At least a 10% handicap in the polls to prop them up as being supported.

Could the United States of America have a BIG dirty secret about it's alleged democratic Republic?
Meaning the common people do not have the voice that they think, and it is only democratic for the wealthy and corporate owners in our "ownership" society.

As everything is falling apart (really, what's not screwed up and getting worse?), everyone is focused on a Republican power grab for a dictatorship. Are they just keeping everyone focused and busy fighting their abuse of power, and what else are they up to and hiding from public attention?

11. It's all about the hype.
I laugh when all these Right-Wing pundits keep feeding the line about how most Americans were allegedly against things like removing Shiavo's tube, the filibuster, teaching evolution, etc., despite poll-after-poll indicating otherwise. Even Faux's polls don't back them up! What they can't prove, they simply lie about.

I notice during my weekly library visit(yeah,I'm sure I'm on some government list for my choices) the same old Hannity, Coulter and other anti-liberal and Clinton books still on the shelves week after week. J.C Watts "What Color is a Conservative?" alone could use an occasional dusting off.

The only reason this tripe sells at all is heavy marketing through the RW echo chamber and a fly-by night Free Press overproducing so Richard Mellon Scaife can buy truckloads to inflate the numbers.

I also think that election victory fever has run it's course with the Righties and some are even finally coming to realize that the taste is not so sweet as none of Shrub's promises are coming to pass.

It is true, as pointed out, that there is a great deal of Americans who simply given up on both sides and rather immerse themselves in brain dead fair like American Idol, sitcoms or reality shows than whats happening in the world at large. In fact, these are the real people the GOP counts on as their ignorance at the Repub's crimes does more good for them than a direct vote ever would.

To be honest, I think it is those type that piss me off more than the Neocon opposition who are at least involved, even if for the wrong reasons. Though I can understand the apathy, being there myself once, with all that's happening now to not be involved is equal to the pre-WWII Germans who saw it coming, but sat by. In a way, they are as much the reason as Bush supporters, that we are where we are today.

15. Sometimes I'm envious of them.
I used to be one of them, too (though I always voted!!).

But every now and then nowdays I get a bit envious. Sometimes I get weary of all that I know and I just want to go back to having my head stuck in the sand and going blithely along.

BUT I know that's no good and would never and COULD never go back to those days. I know too much now.

18. Come to Democratic SE Texas
You'll see plenty of Bush stickers, esp the W'04 kind. I guess they know that the majority of their neighbors disagree with them, so they act like the rude assholes that they are and flaunt the stickers.

It isn't that the majority agree with them- it's a verrrry vocal minority who won't shut up about politics. The only majority they might have is a majority of *voters* in certain areas. Hence, the old adage-

"When people vote, Democrats win."

But then, that was in a time before Diebold. Now, who knows? :)

24. Since the theft of the election
The MINORITY who are Bush-supporters have been emboldened because they believe they are in the majority. That's why so many of them are so in-your-face with their self-righteous bloviation these days. The media encourages them with the illusion that their view is in the majority but there are so many other signs that say otherwise. Like the ones you mentioned and the recent polls.

31. it is, FAUXnews, first of all: very much ado about nothing...
have you seen their website? it is designed as the 'adult' equivalent of a child's busy play-station w/bells, whistles, busy boxes & plenty of things to push & squeeze; all of it as weighty as a popcorn fart.

the downside for them & the upside for progressives imo is that they have played all along, with an unfounded pride, to a demographic with a known low attention span; a nutty/kook fringe desirous of quick, obscene profits mixed with an ignorant component circling for the easy blood of someone else' nose jerry springer style, and they are simply beginning to tune it out. FAUXnews is not yesterdays news it is not news at all. that is what i think in part.

ann coulter, the new: alice in reich-land; will soon have to bitch & squeak 3 & 4 times as fast just to stay in her same position which is in reality...nowhere. sadly, for 5yrs, it has been all fluff & obfuscation and it will all soon be coming down imo if while the cards still need to be played just right.

the bush admin is an embarrassment and they who voted for him/them are beginning to feel the heat. they are bailing. market share therefore tumbling...

ps, 51% ain't no super majority
