1. Freeper Friday / payback time
Last Friday, a caller asked a two part question. The guest answered the first question and before he had a chance to address the second, Brian Lamb interjected and asked an entirely different question. The reason he did this was to deflect national attention away from the British pre-war planning minutes issue. See details at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=post&forum=320&topic_id=341&mesg_id=374

I ask all DU'ers to read the thread and call in during the open periods. Remind all what Lamb did. Then ask Lamb his reason for deflecting the question.

2. Sandy Froman , National Rifle Association
http://www.nrawinningteam.com/

Sandra Froman may be the second woman president of our association, but she is as unique an individual as you will find in our movement. It's hard to imagine as workable a combination of "tough" and "nice" - tough enough to run the oldest and most powerful civil rights organization in the world and nice enough to prefer "Sandy".

An accomplished attorney in her own right, Sandy has risen to the top position at NRA in an incredibly short time. In what will surely set the liberal media seriously off balance, Sandy is a truly friendly person but speaks from a reassuring directness.

In volunteer meetings, I've seen Sandy often stress the advantage of convincing gun-owning women to speak up about the importance of their right to self-defense and the ability to exercise that right. "Sorry guys, one woman is worth five of you when speaking to lawmakers," she states matter-of-factly. She should know.

Sandy is quick to relate the experience that sparked her involvement in the Second Amendment movement years ago, before she ever owned a gun. Waking alone to the unmistakable sound of someone breaking into her home in the middle of the night, Sandy cried out to her neighbors for help through an open window. She was amazed at the lack of response she received - that is, absolutely none - not even a call to 911. Luckily, the criminal was deterred that night by her rucus, but the realization of what could have easily happened struck like lightning. Certainly, a fire was set because as much as any American in history, Sandy declared "Never Again!" Today, her leadership helps men and women keep themselves and their families safe all across our great nation.

11. Batchelor is a True Believer .. an hallucinating zealot.
He's a conbination of Matt Drudge and Orrin Hatch. He's a Rabid KKKrusader Rabbit -- he speaks in carefully slanted generalities, evading (and denying) any fact that negates his ideological bias. Worst of all, he uses the rhetoric of the pulpit, painting himself on the side of the "American Way" and every kneejerk idol he can catalog.

like they don't know what they're talking about.

For his information - I read probably 4-6 hours everyday, AT LEAST. Weekends.... sometimes 8-10 hours. Of course, from DU I learn the most!
(I'm one of those nerds you see with a book, waiting for the bus, on break at work, even while having a beer in the corner at the bar.!)
