I've been pondering this for some time, but how made-up does that name sound? Not to mention his whole persona? I can practicly hear the marketing dialog:
"hmmm well we could call him wolf, it implies he's a news hound who'll hunt down the story...and hey...how about if he has a scruffy(by RW conservative standards) beard, a Wolfman Jack sorta thing, to lend that slightly wolfman-ish appearance....and what about a last name....hmm do you like the sound of blitzer? it implies he'll charge through the story to get to the truth...yeah I like it...with a power name like Wolf Blitzer the Jar Jars* will eat any shit he serves like it was on a silver platter"
I think the man is just fake. I always thought calling someone a phoney was an extremely lame way to attack someone without really saying anything, but maybe now I get it...
For a brief span of weeks before the election I started watching CNN alot, which ended with Jon Stewart's appearance on Crossfire. I don't know if you all noticed but after the original airing Al Franken had a chance to exchange some words with "Wolf Blitzer". He basicly shamed him for not doing his job when the attack ads pointed at Kerry were very obviously taking things Kerry had said completely out of context. That was when it really dawned on me...hey...wait a minute... THIS IS ALL BULLSHIT!!!...& theater like Jon Stewart just said...not just Crossfire but CNN in general...and possibly (probably) MSM in general. Ok I'm done with my rants and run on sentances. Just food for thought.
