Episode III... very timely for the current political climate
Turning over the Senate to only one power! A war set up by the powers that be to set up support for a power grab of the Republic.

Hmmm...

Don't post any spoilers here... but compare the Star Wars "Republic" with that of our own. And I am curious as to your thoughts. Do the Sith live in the White House?

Here are some quotes from the movie....

"This was a false war, a diversionary tactic"

"You’re either with us or against us"

“My loyalty is to the Chancellor, to the Republic, not to those questioning his tactics”

"We have been lied to..."

Most of my enjoyment of the movie came from 1) Jimmy Smits, and 2) all the not-so-thinly veiled political messages. :)

6. If they don't want to see it, they're not going to see it.
The "with me or against me" line was pretty frigging hard to miss, though.

3. Check out "Example 3" in this thread - and please add some comments too!
Your quotes would be good additions. I believe the political satire and criticism in mass entertainment demonstrates how widespread opposition to the Bush cartel really is.

See what you think:

10. Lucas talked about what he was thinking about when he wrote the story
He was actually thinking of Nixon when he developed the plot. Obviously some of the finer points and dialogue were hashed out more recently, and the inspiration from Bush are evident. Its hard to go into specifics without spoiling the plot, but I think the best line relating to the current climate was the "so this is how the Republic dies, to thunderous applaus. Reminded me of watching Bush's State of the Union speaches.
