Dems final "Bolton Report" released - "he lied" to Congress
From Steve Clemons' "The Washington Note"

Bolton Lied to Senate Foreign Relations Committee: Read Bolton Report

TWN has received a copy of the minority views in the Bolton Nomination Report (http://www.thewashingtonnote.com/archives/bolton.pdf) filed by the Foreign Relations Committee with the U.S. Senate.

Here is one excerpt of a report very well worth reading in full:

VI. MISLEADING THE FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE

The record before the Committee demonstrates that Under Secretary Bolton did not live up to his reputation as a "straight-talker" during his testimony to the Committee. He made several statements to the Committee that were contradicted by others, at odds with available evidence, and may be fairly described as misleading, disingenuous or non-responsive.

A. Mr. Bolton says he did not try to have INR analyst Christian Westermann disciplined.

Mr. Bolton insisted, on several occasions, that he did not try to have Christian Westermann, an analyst in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR), removed from his position or disciplined.

This testimony was contradicted by four other witnesses, including his Chief of Staff.

1. Where Do Perjury Laws Come Into This Process?
Or "lying to Congress" which. I think would probably apply more directly.

2. As Norm "IdiotBoy" Coleman said, there should be consequences
in that case ... same as with George Galloway.

3. The problem with those kind of arguments is Bolton can get around them.
Bullies are like that, and usually about everybody who crosses them. They simply say "I wasn't trying to get anybody fired. I complained because I was angry about an employee's actions. If his boos wants to fire him after what I said, that's his decision, not mine!

I've seen this BS happen in the business world forever.

Dems are trying to prove Bolton's intent, and you can't ever do that.

BTW, I think the Bolton nomination for Amb. to the UN is one of the damn dumbest ideas Shrub has had in a while, but you have to be able to prove your case, and all these Senators (who are lawyers, after all) should know that!
