1346 Days.
This morning, I heard that it's been 1346 days since 9/11. Why is this so important? Well, 1346 days after Pearl Harbor, WWII was ending. We had achieved VE and VJ day, defeating two of the most powerful militaries of their day in a brutal two front war.

As of today, Osama has 'evaded capture' for 1346 days. In the past 1346 days, we have seen a two-front war that has yet to yield any semblance of victory.

We have seen the US squander nearly $300 billion dollars.
We have seen the US sanction torture and hang a few lowly soldiers out to dry.
We have seen over 10,000 of our brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, and friends sustain life altering injuries.
We have seen over 1600 of our soldiers make the ultimate sacrifice.
We have seen the 'insurgency' in Iraq go from 25 car bombs in 2004 to 21 car bombs in May 2005 alone.
We have seen billions lost through the CPA.
We've seen Halliburton get bonus after bonus for failing to supply our troops and failing to rebuild Iraq.
We've seen no reconstruction progress and the cancellation of the water treatment system rebuild in Halabja, the neocon rallying point where 'Saddam gassed his own people'.

What haven't we seen in 1346 days?
Any victory.
Osama's, Mullah Omar's, or Zwahiri's capture.
Full equipment support for our soldiers in harm's way.
Accountability for the abject failure of Iraq and Afghanistan from this administration.

How much longer are the American people going to put up with this? To me, the answer of 'one more day' is unacceptable.

I really don't know what the answer is. Things have gotten so completely out of control that I fear there is no simple solution. It's going to take decades to repair the damage this administration has done.

What scares me is, I don't know where to start.

Keep up the fight.
Peace
Christian aka Sal316

3. First, paper trails
Second, send these neocons back to the holes they crawled out of.

Third, recommend this post for Greatest page.

8. I agree... paper trails is #1.
What good is democracy if you can't trust the voting system?

Wasn't it Stalin who said "It's not who votes, but who counts the votes that matters"?

4. well said. mind if I steal it to send CNN?

and my local paper?

I've committed myself to writing Jonathan Klein, pres of CNN every day.
He's the one who said "progressives don't get too worked up about anything".
I'm sending him something I'm worked up about every day 9until he calls the FBI to take me away).

Nice work.

7. Yes, and MNA Day 3 is only 5 deaths away

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - Be it MNA Day 3 or 8 or 15 or .... the day will come when 10s of millions of Americans and others stop their typical activities for 24 hours and urge 10 times that many to join should another MNA Day be required. On that glorious day America will have begun truly to be "America," again.

17. Yes. "MNA Day" is a day we soon want never to have again. That ...
.... is the goal.

Thank you.

No more flag draped coffins, no more stories of corruption, no more fear tactics.

This isn't the America I paid for...where do I get my refund?

10. And I despair...
because I, too, don't know where to start. There is so, so much wrong being done, not just at the Federal level, but also at my State level (with Dems complicity) that at times, I just want to take my kids and run far, far away.

Other times I see a ray of light. Some hope (Galloway's testimony helped yesterday) that we've come to the bottom and the sleeping, lost masses are waking to the reality of what their apathy and ignorance has wrought.

But, then, I hear nothing of substance about Galloway's testimony in the MSM. I hear nothing blasting this Administration for pressuring reporters to not report the atrocities. I hear nothing on anything of substance ad infinitum. And, I'm saddened again.

I haven't given up. I've only really just stepped into the fray. But, it's going to be a long, hard struggle. Probably the hardest thing I've had to do, really. And, I get afraid and tired. But, when I look at my sleeping childrens' faces, I know that I must go on and not be silenced for them.

We shall overcome.

14. I feel the same.
This isn't the country I want for my children.

They have been my inspiration through all the disappointment and frustration.
