2. Their hero pResident does coke and gets DUIs, and all is forgiven.
Jane Fonda makes a stupid mistake, apologizes for it, and the right wing hates her forever.

What Would Jesus Do, indeed.

3. Fonda deserved to be forgiven, Kentucky theaters are pathetic
As a former Marine I respect Jane Fonda's courage in admitting her past mistakes. And although my dad died in 2001, he also was a proud Marine who served in Vietnam at Khe Sanh. He forgave Jane Fonda and other Vietnam vets need to do the same. As for Kentucky theaters, thier decision is cowardly and has more to do with Politics and stupidity then any love for country or millitary.

4. Morning Sedition was talking about this
with Tim Robbins this morning. Said some kook keeps a list of entertainers that are on the "wrong side" - how so very McCarthy-istic of them.....

9. This theater and the jerk off owner live right here in my town.
Owner thinks he is pandering to Fort Knox personnel about 15 miles away. Personally I think he is just looking for a little attention. Play the movie, don't, just STFU about it here in Jesusland.

Just to give you an idea of what this town is like...

It took over 50 years and three ballot initiatives to finally be allowed to serve alcohol in local restaurants in Elizabethtown. Every horror story known to man was drug out - drunk driving accidents, kids getting booze (like they weren't already!), need more police, higher taxes, etc. It actually had an alliance of local Baptist Churches joining forces with the liquor stores just over the county line working together to defeat the referendum. (I always love hypocrisy - in this neck of the woods lots of people work for distilleries - Maker's Mark, Jim Bean, etc. The churches (Southern Baptist, in particular) rail on Sunday morning against the devil drink and drinkers but will gladly pass the plate for the churchgoers tithe earned at those same distilleries. )

You can now order an over priced beer or two or three from a nice eating establishment and then drive home but you can't buy a six pack, take it home and drink it from the peace, safety and comfort of your own house - unless you drive the 20 miles to the county line to purchase it first. BTW - of course, none of the horrors of serving alcohol in this city has come to pass - except we have much nicer restaurants, a healthy tax base, and more people spending money at home.

6. The theater owners have the right to show (or not) whatever they want.
No matter how silly we think it is.
