I just don't think people could possibly be this stupid. They are convinced that Conan O'Brien is a fellow traveler, because he apparently made some tasteless jokes about the Koran-flushing incident.

I wish I'd seen Conan tonight, but lately I've been favoring Craig Ferguson. He had a nice show tonight with Sela Ward, who educated Craig on Bear Bryant, and a fellow, Michael Tucker, who made a film about the Iraq war, "Gunner Palace."

I don't know what to make of the people over there, but they seem very simple-minded and hateful. Most of them claim to be Christians, but I see little of the Christian virtues that I was taught as a child. They are all about hate and division. And I don't think very many of them are real.

I believe most of them are (and I hope that I'm right, for the sake of us all) liberals, progressive, and Democrats parodying the right wing to make them out the fools that they really are. If I'm wrong, I fear for the future and the world.

I do believe Mr. O'Brien is a conservative.

At the very least several of his writers are, and he has often expressed very conservative views on various issues.

He has poked fun at the Holy Father, Benedict the Sixteenth, but I think I read somewhere that Mr. O'Brien is a practicing Catholic.

I could be wrong.
